Ok, I envision two sides to this for future debate. On one side "hey, evolution...lets give chimps rights" and on the other side "life is precious and god and the bible...we're not chimps, this is blasphemy!"
That's the black and white and anyone who is intelligent and rational, will not be touching this issue. The fact that this question is even raised says to me that without a doubt, any useful scientists are soon going to be extinct; due to nothing more than politics! The movie Idiocracy comes to mind.
And could you imagine a Chimp on re-entry? A space monkey coming BACK to Earth, wtf! Absurd!
About half of our country rejects evolution, some going so far as to say Creation is fact and the Earth is 10,000 years old. About half of our country voted for Bush. About half of our country is stupid. Makes sense. As long as the North kept the superior military and made the big decisions (the south just enough to defend itself,)I'd say we should split back up. As a bonus, the South would have to deal with Mexican immigration, and we could wipe our hands clean, blame everything on the South and try as hard as we can to clean up our image internationally. We'd definitely have to get props for giving these morons the ax.
I don't own an iPod, any portable music device, or even a cell phone; but I understand why the iPod sold like it did. I also don't own a Tivo, yet. But what is so enticing about spending $2 per episode of television shows, rather than record as many as you damn well please from such a wider selection that is cable and Tivo? Is this really intended to be an all-inclusive entertainment experience? Are people going to be ditching their cable TV service and paying per view from a piss poor selection? How could Apple possibly believe they can compete with every network in the world, both cable and satellite. If this is just an attempt to get their foot in the door of internet->living room content delivery, what could possibly persuade you to actually adopt it right now?
Extremely weak hard drive (about 20% the size of Tivo) and exclusive access to the iTunes store for overpriced, compressed, non-HD, DRM crippled media. I swear I read every word of the artice, but still I ask, what is so great about this device? I'd even settle for thoughts from a blatant fanboy at this point.
Sorry that was the ONE time i didn't put the "first person" before the word "shooters"...I meant first person shooters. I'm guessing you knew that, but wanted a chance to throw on some random game wikilinks for some strange reason, or possibly you were capitalizing on an inconsistency in my post in an effort to troll most efficiently. Let it be known, to anyone who was SERIOUS, that I meant FPS. My apologies for the confusion, again, if anyone was truthfully confused...
Are we ever going to be able to use a keyboard and mouse for FPS games?
Before launch there was a lot of speculation that because the PS3 supported keyboard/mouse for web browsing, developers would also add functionality in-game. However, Resistance: Fall of Man does not include the option of playing via keyboard and mouse. Seeing as the keyboard and mouse is vastly superior to ANY controller, it wouldn't imply that you feel your controller is lacking were you to let users play with a keyboard/mouse, which is what I assume makes you apprehensive toward giving users that ability. Racing games, platformers, adventure games, side scrollers, sports games, are all better for controllers, but shooters absolutely necessitate the keyboard and mouse.
Are there any plans to allow us this functionality? Or, do you feel that letting a user take advantage of non-Sony licensed peripherals within the Sony game experience is going to hurt the bottom line?
For what little it is worth coming from me, I can assure you that is not the case and that no one buys a console for shooters only, they will certainly continue using your devices for other games.
Well, it doesn't seem like they could have truthfully surveyed people outside the bible belt and get those results. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: only idiots answer surveys. Move along, nothing to see here.
I bet kids in China, India and Russia don't dare to open their mouths about getting too much homework.
What works in India/China/Russia does NOT work in America, we'd be a whole lot better off not taking cues from governments that are the INVERSE of everything we stand for, but this isnt a political discussion... US Public schools don't suck because they don't have enough homework, they suck because of budget cuts and poor teachers, less and less people even WANT to teach. Busy work at home is the time when kids shut off their minds and drone out to the task at hand, that's exactly what India, China, and Russia need. We need something better, the answer hasn't a thing to do with homework, but more funding, more teachers, better teachers, better spending. I certainly don't have the answers, but I know copying the Chinese schools isn't going to work here, and it should not, that method is for creating soulless commie robots. Shouldn't send your kids to public school anyway, that should be a last resort these days.
If Iran ever tries to use a nuclear weapon, it will be an act of suicide. Once Iran allows an opening, the gloves are going to come off. The retaliation against Iran will be so swift and severe that Iran will cease to exist.
Well maybe that's what we all need. A war that isn't trying to be sold as 'bringing democracy' in some sort of horrible half-witted policing mission. Just a clear goal of total annihilation, THAT at least can be achieved, though it would all depend on what Halliburton wants to do. Personally, I think we should airdrop everyone making profit with Halliburton into the region with some BB guns and see how they do. I'll buy a ribbon for that.
I wholly agree with the article, I think the grind to level up is ridiculous and quite a waste of time; offering minimal reward for such an outrageous sacrifice of player time. Take EVE online for example, I can't wrap my mind around people playing that game as miners, basically digging for rocks and selling them so they can get better ships and equipment for more mining, that's like someone who is playing starcraft and wishes they could be an SCV. To me, every RPG I have encountered is similarly flawed with a few exceptions, albeit they're old ones; mainly the Fallout series, and I do also admit I dug the Darksun games way back when.
But anyways...slashing hordes of monsters to get skill points and levels is an absurd concept to me, but if that's what people want to do who am I to judge? I bet they'd tear me apart for being an FPS Battlefiend. I do really enjoy that Battlefield 2142 stuff, though, and the unlocks/ranks system is enough Role Playing for me:D
Turbobusa. If that's wrong, I don't want to be right. I couldn't imagine the rush of that, personally I don't like the big heavy bikes but I'd make an exception for that experience. The first time I threw a leg over an RS125 two-stroke GP bike and did a few track days with a buddy of mine, even the nicest street bikes started feeling clunky and unresponsive. But that boosted Hayabusa would be like nothing else for sheer straight-line velocity.
Tell them to get off because you have something important to do, most of the time they listen and you probably even make it into their comments as the guy who "totally ruined my chances with this girl, and ruined my life".
Stortinget, the Norwegian parliament, in April 2005 passed a new Discrimination Act. The act says in pretty clear words that in cases of suspected direct or indirect discrimination due to religion or ethnicity, Norwegians are guilty until proven innocent. Right here
Man, I don't know why you flipped on me dude, I didn't even side with anyone, you can't deny that a prison has criminals though...I even admitted the wrongdoings of the corporation....could it be you can't get over yourself? I mean what you've said just now is, how you say, "dumb"... Anyway, If I am dumb, you're just a total prick bro. I've obviously struck a nerve with you, sad to see your defense mechanisms out like this, I am quite embarrassed for you, sir....I jsut don't understand, I didn't say ANYthing but that guilty until proven innocent stuff is bogus, and that Guantanamo isn't the hyped up sensation you believe it to be, I know you want instant "humanitarian points" for speaking out against these outrages, but I really am grateful that I am impervious to that bonehead path of smug self-satisfaction. Good day.
In Norway, if you're charged with a 'hate-crime' you're automatically considered guilty until proven, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that you're innocent. In the US, that's not true, unless in the off chance you're a Muslim that is charged with terrorism... Which I would say if anything warrants such an approach, that would be far more just that BS like 'hate crimes'...though, of course, it isn't completely just.
Guantanamo has plenty of REAL war criminals, REAL murderers, and you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere more strict and by the book after the bad press, they kicked the private corporation that was doing the torture. (that's right, it was the private corporation but none of THEM got in trouble, only the few American soldiers that saw them and did the same)So Guantanamo is really old hat at this point dudes.
These debates can and will go on forever, because everyone has a problem with these outrages, and you're all such fscking altruists that you'll never stop until everyone that has nothing to do with it is bitched out. Humanitarians, the whole lot of you, you deserve award banquets.
But, what Norway is doing with this filtering and with the 'guilty-until-innocent' clause they've introduced, is trying to modify behavior of their citizens with fear and oppression. In a place like Norway, I could see it working and probably not even really being a bad thing. Sure, it's a little hard to swallow at first, but I am sure in no time they'll have a smug sense of superiority in their new laws, and embrace the restrictions placed upon them as only natural and right. It will be interesting, no doubt, and I am sure many other nations will soon adopt these policies. We've been witnessing the death of the freedom idea for a while now, but after an acceleration of inevitable transformation to a new oppression process in on the horizon, soon freedom will be the new terrorism. After all, you can't just LET people think racist thoughts, you have to punish them for their ideas; because you've decided their ideas are wrong. Though, you don't know them, who they are, where they've been, you just know racism is bad and if you are affiliated then you're going to jail asshole! I think Mike Tyson said it best when he said it's not our place to judge other's ideas, simply because we lack the ability to understand them and by our definition of 'right'...find them inherently wrong.
This stupid situation doesn't apply to all astronauts, just female astronauts that happen to be in the crazed state of womanhood (post-womanhood?) known as menopause. Believe no doctor would allow an Astronaut to leave Earth's orbit in that state, nor would any woman feel comfortable doing so! So female astronauts wouldn't be going to Mars at that age, and it is really tragic that anyone would look at this as anything more than it is... A woman going through menopause, which takes a hell of a toll on mental stability. As for not trusting Astronauts handling 30 months without sex, that is absolutely absurd and the Lisa Nowak situation doesn't change that a bit. If we find that won't be going to Mars anytime soon it is solely because we wasted all of our money, other's, and some that we won't have for years, in Iraq. My embarrassment on behalf of this country grows daily, but this transcends American politics, it's that painfully obvious.
I believe that Sony is really playing hardball with the multi-billion dollar porn industry for a very simple reason, they want exclusive access to all of the soiled used panties that accumulate after filming. Once these Japanese men's panty hunger can be satiated, the format war will be over... heck, in that case, maybe all war will be over?
And some Europeans have less stupid television service than your very basic stupid service! There are people all over Europe that can watch anything the stupid States get and more...
"When my generation finally makes it to adulthood, we'd generally accept it as normal that the authorities have that right to search and your property without your consent or any cause other than their thoughts of you being guilty of something."
It will be the norm, quite soon. I suppose we have to pay somehow for being at the good end of the "technological understanding gap" and being the last generation to experience good music, substantive children's programming, and a powerful economy. I feel worse for kids nowadays, they really have nothing going for them and will have to deal with the same mess of problems as us, only now they have to adapt to more invasive protocol much more rapidly... We sort of witnessed a birth, or a death, it depends on how you see the glass.
I hate Boston, always have and always will, but this is particularly absurd. It is obvious that their police force is borderline braindead and their citizens are positively worthless. The mere fact that they are even considering an 'investigation' or 'legal-action' is testament to the need to legitimately BOMB Boston, but to do so in a government controlled manner (as to make certain ALL are vaporized, and to get some important urban bomb testing done)
Would we lose a historical landmark? Nope, we already did, Boston has been dead for years now and all that is left is another revolting college town which creates more self-centered, pseudo-intellectual, elitist scumbags that probably would call something like Aqua Teen, "inane"
Boston is a city full of subversive racists and blatant arrogance, don't believe me? Well, the first black person you'll see there is shining shoes, and every White, Asian, Middle Eastern, is the same over-privileged prick, they're practically even uniformed appropriately as well. Boston, there's a year of my life I want back, badly, and I'm considering launching an investigation into how you can sell out an entire city to a few over-rated colleges.
That's the black and white and anyone who is intelligent and rational, will not be touching this issue. The fact that this question is even raised says to me that without a doubt, any useful scientists are soon going to be extinct; due to nothing more than politics! The movie Idiocracy comes to mind.

So what if they were n00bs, any way you slice it a 55.0 K/D is pretty sick! But losing a helo sucks, they take a frikkin whole minute to respawn!
If you lightly coat your monitor with gold spray paint you reveal the secret area! Whoa! This game even runs on Linux!
Mod me Interesting if you like Tits!

Yes, but I think that with Government backing I could make it very silly!

It's all about Mega Man, the greatest series to ever hit the NES.
