That sounds similar to how I have a pair of Win7 boxes connected to two of my 55" TV's HDMI ports for gaming and watching video (VLC, Netflix, YouTube, and watchcartoononline). Star Trek Online, Champions, and Guild Wars 2 look quite nice on the big screen (though I haven't played any games in months); and City of Titans will be fantastic with this setup.
They shouldn't forget that regardless of the % of paid vs non-paid developers on a project the reason why they have the market penetration they currently do is because their products are FOSS in the first place.
Yep, and when they lock down their material, the logical response from the community is to select an older version as a base to start with and tell the original developer to fork off.
And I also have to say that the PEB, the Peripheral Expansion Box just looks so freaking cool and classy; and if they were not still largely unobtanium as they have always been; I would consider getting ahold of a third one to use as a case for a small footprint motherboard Debian/Windows 7 box.
I had a blast with her and learned a lot. Granted, we could never afford the expansion box, or a disk drive (got a nice 4a setup now); but I was still able to figure out plenty with just the base system, cassette recorder, and speech synthesizer.
Also built up my own little library of BASIC programs by borrowing the various TRS-80 books from my school's computer lab and converted many of them from TRS-80 BASIC to TI BASIC.
I do not have any regrets over being a 99er. I was one of the lucky few kids in town to have a computer, and mine was much easier to make say George Carlin's 7 words clearly than any other computer I managed to experience back in the day.
Oh yeah, we also had the best home version of Star Trek: Strategic Operations Simulator (I am 99% positive that was actually Leonard Nimoy they got to declare "Damage Repaired, Captain!" when you managed to tag a starbase before you could go boom). We also had the 2nd best version of Space Invaders. I do have to grant the #1 spot for that to the VIC-20, which I didn't get to experience until I went through my collect them all phase back in the late 90s.
I just barely missed the S-100 era. By the time I had my first exposure to computers in 1981, the schools here were on TRS-80 systems (Models I and III), and the big epeen to strive for was the Apple ][ Plus.
My first of my own though was just a TI-99/4a (last minute save because the 'rents were seriously considering a $99 Timex-Sinclair 1000). What little social life I had at that time went instantly to zero for most of my high school years.
My great grandparents came over legally from Ireland and Scotland in the 1890s. They had fully embraced American Culture not too long after, and well before they even earned their citizenship.
And after their arrival, they simply referred to themselves as Americans without the from elsewhere prefix.
Of course, Bezos coming out to start the Ratner Effect and declaring that Amazon will eventually fail could be an indicator that you may not expect job security, and you might want to work with someone who at least has more confidence in his company.
Got my first one (the old e-ink Kindle I use for books doesn't count) this past summer. It's just a 32GB Asus Nexus 7, nothing to write home about; but for $10 at the police unclaimed property yard sale, I couldn't resist.:)
Humanity has saved a lot more from extinction through conservation efforts than it has "wiped out". When will activists learn that such dishonest hyperbole is doing more harm to their causes than help?
It's a bloody shame that the peregrine falcon ended up being such an ungrateful little fucker.
I'm still hoping Bortus will compare some current situation to something he and Clyden did back in the day. This would be followed by a bit of an uncomfortable pause as if everyone is waiting for a cut scene; then everyone shakes it off when Bortus asks if he said something bad.
They also need Seth Green to guest, so they can rip on Robot Chicken, which the crew could be watching on the main screen at the start of an episode.
You are likely wrong, I would guess; just considering how prevalent how to videos for so many things on YouTube and elsewhere have become; from auto mechanics, to fishing and hunting, to gardening, and more; I would place good odds on the market being primed for this.
Do like the rest of us do. If you don't like a post; just scroll past it. Freedom of speech also includes freedom for idiots to say and post unpopular things, and even things that many may find offensive.
Implementing hate speech laws in the U.S. would be a blatant violation of the most supreme part of the supreme law of the land. Do not fucking go there. Just ignore it like the grown ups do.
It seems like this would be a one way trip. Since Venus has a gravity close to 1g, wouldn't the planet's escape velocity mean that this would be a one way trip?
After all, it took something as powerful as a Saturn V to reach Terran escape velocity and get us to the moon. How would we manage to get a spacecraft that massive out there in order to bring our explorers back?

The big Q is, "Are you pro Crete or con Crete?"
Blucher!
Pie R round, not square

Uhm, actually...
We did not have enough pro-matter for the job, so we had to make you out of protomatter instead.
Sorrrrreeeeeee...
So like, this one time... at Computer Camp...
You are not the only one to take note.
To quote Buck Murdock (Airplane II: The Sequel), "Irony can be very ironic."

It's been 20 years already? Goodness, how time flu...
Plus, the B is Excelsior Class.

Yes. He was allergic to Retinox-5, or whatever it was called.

And if they don't want traced, use a public WiFi, like perhaps at Arrrrrrrrrby's.
I thought it was "coveting your neighbor's ass". Or maybe it was the neighbor's wife's ass, depending on which way you swing.
My neighbor's wife certainly has a covetable ass. (giggitygiggity).
You left out the rest of the verse, that paints God as a narcissistic, egotistical dick...
“but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him."
"I made him blind from birth and have to suffer through life with no sight up until now so I can show the world how cool and awesome I am."
