    I'd say the HTML saga did the opposite of stifling innovation. It strongly encourages it.

    It does stifle productivity more often than not though.

    That depends. When you look at physics narrowly, we could agree that Einstein expanded Newton's physics.

    But there is more at stake. As a natural philosophy, the contents of the two are worlds apart. Newtonian nature was a philosophical center for other thinkers, e.g. Hobbes, and their theories are also questionable.

    In terms of actual content, Newton's world lost, and few (if any) think "Newtonian" anymore. Because it is untrue.

    I hope they DON'T make their own distros, unless it's for their own hardware.

    Why? It should be a well-maintained application that works regardless for the top ten on distrowatch. When Steam gets Office (which is what the bosses must have) it will make Linux more attractive. Admins get to choose what they can admin and users get the ribbon.

    If I wanted to run a commercial OS, I'd run Win8 or Ubuntu.

    We should move away from the 'y' will replace 'x', because what we always end up with is y in the y-usecase and x in the x-usecase.

    I play L4D2 on Wine on my Fedora PC, because any self-respecting FPS require Keyboard and Mouse. I play Skyrim on ps3 because it's a kick-back and relax enjoying the great outdoors type of exploration, for which the couch provides the perfect seating. The scenario for laptops (work), PCs (gaming), tablets/phones (communicating and commuting) and consoles (relaxation) are wholly different for most people. I wouldn't want an e-mail reader on my PS3. It's not a work-platform.

    With regards to the Spartacus snipers, there is the question of whether or not the snipers would run out of bullets before killing the actual Spartacus.

    Nuke them from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

    Not being a DB admin, I get the notion that MySQL has the market share, while Postgre the future. So I'd think it would be easier to get a job within MySQL for statistical reasons.

    I wouldn't plan my future on statistics though. If you do meaningful things, life is more meaningful. Same goes for funny.

    Actually, it should be very easy to replace instances of FREE with OPEN SOURCE.

    It's not free software as in freeware, so when someone calls with a problem, OPEN SOURCE should be a key word. Create an online voluntary forum, an FAQ, and otherwise refer the caller to their respective IT dept.
    Strong but firm. People respect that.

    Actually, the name whisky, pron. "errschki", is (I want to say) Celtic for water; water being its main ingredient.

    The Scots used this in their bottles, not water, because you could endure longer hikes.

    At least, that's what the guy at the Famous Grouse distillery said, just before we got free samples.

    Sameness is not identical to equal worth. The conference holder should have inquired whether a group of white nerds is less equal than a
    one of mixed origin, and sued for reparations.
