Two hundred years ago a group of wise men fought against tyranny rather than lying down and accepting unfairness, so no, I don't think they did without. And while that may have been against a government, its message is just as appropriate when dealing with corporations.
2. make damn sure he didn't do anything more serious and insidious?
Um, they should have done that anyways. If you outsource someone's job and don't change everything to make sure they don't get back in, you're a fucking moron. End of Story. Charging him for what they should have done is bullshit.
TV Newsman to Weatherguy: "So satan, whats the weather like in Hell?"
Weatherguy (Satan): "Well, Hell will experience record lows and a 100% chance of pigs flying", back to you Bob.
You're assuming that everyone who shows up to class finds it necessary to pay attention. I find no problem with a kid going into a Physics course and dicking around on the internet if he can still pass the class. Kids who can't pass it will fail out of college, thus correcting the problem.
I will stick with OpenOffice thank you very much. It already has XML document functionality, its free, and it doesn't look like it was designed for a 12 year old.
Does anyone but me think that this is a total non-issue? So what if they port it SCO, to cause a big fuss over it seems very anti-OSS to me. After all, isn't part of the movement to be able to run software on as many different configurations as possible?
It ONLY managed to make $380 million dollars....still putting it in the top 10 movies of all time.
Now because of those "evil pirates" George Lucas might not be able to build another gigantic animation studio.
This is why people don't give a damn about how the record companies feel.
A good business model exists, the record company makes money, but then they get greedy.
Without stooping to open insulting of all Mac users, this guy has some serious flaws in his argument.
"Memory. Not all RAM is equal. Some works well. Cheap stuff doesn't."
"Hard disks. Same problem: cheap or reliable. Your call."
Yes, but Macintosh computers use the same type of RAM and hard drives that Windows/Linux computers use.

About fucking time! If people can't be bothered to do it for their own sakes, maybe the threat of a fine will do it for them.
That Open Office is free, where as Microsoft Office costs $300.
Uh, because Weather Control is illegal under the Geneva Conventions.

I for one, welcome our new techno-space overlords.
And the world would be a better place if it came true more often....
LIES, there's no such thing as a girl on the nerdiest site in all of the internet.
It's XP 2.0, all the features you wanted in XP that required 3rd party programs. Big fucking whoop.
