  7. Re:PDF? on The Massachusetts Office Party · · Score: 1

If you have to use Adobe Reader for its unique functionalities I guess it's better, I won't argue.

The only thing I want to do with PDFs is to read them and eventually print them. I can perfectly manage to do that with xPDF/gPDF. They load in 1 second on my computer, compare that to about 10 seconds (maybe I exaggerate) in Adobe Reader. Rendering is probably better in original but I have yet to see badly rendered PDF in readers I use.

  8. Re:I really hate Blizzard on Blizzard/Vivendi 2, bnetd 0 · · Score: 1

I don't see Macromedia and Adobe being against Linux. There is a flash player and Adobe's PDF reader, they suck, yes, but they are out there. It's just a matter of time until we see Photoshop on Linux, right now it's just not profitable enough for them, I guess. Microsoft is another case.

  9. Re:PDF? on The Massachusetts Office Party · · Score: 3, Informative

Adobe Acrobat is not the only program that can open PDF. At least on Linux there is vast choice of PDF readers, all of them are much faster than Acrobat, I guess it applies to Windows too.

Probably there will be very few officially released games. This console is entirely depending on homebrew software. Its precedessor has proven that it is possible, look at all the stuff that was released for GP32 - countless emulators and other nifty apps. Now that it will have more powerful software it will be able to emulate SNES and some arcade machines. And it doesn't require that user knows how to hack and mod his console. Compare it to difficulties that PSP/DS users have to run homebrew software.

You are used to earning a LOT from a perspective of a polish guy. Do chinese or indian people complain about low salaries? Maybe a little, I guess a lot of people would like to get 65K. Of course life in their countries is much cheaper but still they can't afford as much as citizens of, for example, UK.

I mean, hello, this is real world, with competition everywhere and more and more emerging masses of people who will fight to live decent life. Either adapt or loose.
