The reason why Capone was busted on tax evasion and not murder, extortion or some other crime is because tax evasion was a federal offense, while the others where state. This allowed the prosecutors to select a jury from a larger area, (outside of Capone's turf,) so they could get a jury that would actually convict.
This is one of your classic example's of lying through a half truth. Criminal Organizations can make profit by violating IP law, by selling bootleg DVDs, knock-offs of Designer Brands, etc. It's possible that some organizations with connections to Terror are doing this. The fact the you can download movies off the internet, however, reduces the market for Bootlegs, thus reducing potential terrorist revenues. Therefore, by sharing IP you are in fact helping win the War on Terror. However, if the criminal penelties for that increase, less people will share, torrents will be come less effective, and more people will buy bootlegs.
Is that the winning Russian univeristies are in very provincial places. Saratov is in the middle of nowhere East of the Volga River and Altai is actually in Kazakhstan.
Microsoft suggests that Computer Retailers only sell models with Software preinstalled because they can then sell customers more services. From TFA: 5 percent fewer opportunities to market software and services (5 percent is the number of customers that buy "naked" PCs.) Memo to Microsoft:
People who buy computers without your crap on it aren't going to want additional services! It seems like the retailers have a much better model: Giving the customer what he actually wants...
Maybe thay could just use the songs that are in the damn book? Those are perfectly good. (This is one of my gripes about the movies by the way, no singing.)
You're probably trolling but the second verse refers to transubstantiation. You know when people eat bread and wine during communion? The bread is symbolic for the body of Christ and the wine for his blood. (Or according to some it actually becomes the body and blood of Christ, though not physically.)
Slashdot doesn't currently support any posting in Chinese as far as I can tell. I tried posting an example of how a Mandrain Speaker might get around a filter on the word Democracy (hint: 1337 doesn't work in a character based system). I tried twice but neither time did the characters show up at all, not even in some sort of garbbled equivelent.
"I think that you can be accused of drug trafficing or something silly for having more than $10k in cash"
I don't know about that. I know you can't carry more than 10k in cash across international borders without reporting it, but border crossings are a place where your rights seem to be somewhat dimminished. Recently a man tried to carry 800k in cash into the country and he failed to report it and it was confiscated, but no other legal action was taken since he wasn't committing any crime. He sued and got some of his money back since the courts ruled that confiscating that much money was an "excessive fine" under the eighth amendment.
When my Great Aunt passed away we found more than 100k in cash hidden around the house. (Many that lived through the Great Depression did not trust the banking system.) Also many businesses operate entirely in cash, so I imagine the frequently have sums in excess of 10k around without fear of prosecution.
What they're complaining about is google displaying images (or rather thumbs) from other sites that are infringing on their copyright. They're probably already using robots.txt on their own site.
A shadkhen (matchmaker) goes to see a poor man and says, "I want to arrange a marriage for your son." The poor man replies, "I never interfere in my son's life." The shadkhen responds, "But the girl is Lord Rothschild's daughter." "Well, in that case..."
Next, the shadkhen approaches Lord Rothschild. "I have a husband for your daughter." "But my daughter is too young to marry." "But this young man is already a vice president of the World Bank." "Ah, in that case..."
Finally, the shadkhen goes to see the president of the World Bank. "I have a young man to recommend to you as a vice president." "But I already have more vice presidents than I need." "But this young man is Lord Rothschild's son-in-law." "Ah, in that case...."
The arguement was relevant in this case though, since the topic was US companies coorperating with dictatorships. Godwin's Law only applies in case where allusions to the Nazis is off topic.
According to reports, the religious unrest broke out with a minor dispute, as someone threw a stone into a Buddhist monastery compound and it sparked the anger of the Buddhist monks, who mistakenly believed that the occupants of a nearby mosque were responsible for the alleged stone throw.
Subsequently, number of Muslims were attacked and injured in the religious riot that ensued, while others fearing for their lives sought shelter in the homes of the neighbouring Buddhist families.
I realise this is a bit off topic, but the main reason why there aren't many Zorastrians left is due to the muslims. Sort of like there aren't very many pratitioners of American Indian religions anymore...
Actually they're mostly burning the Danish flag, which could be consider blasphamy as well, since Danes beleive their flag was given to them directly from God.

I'm using an NVIDIA card on my Linux box at work for some real time graphical stuff. The off screen buffering stuff we're doing was a bear to get working, but other than that it works great.
It may also be Anarcho-Capitalist, but wanting to reduce government services, reduce taxes, and improve the family have long been goals of the conservative movement, therefore my description was acurate.

I always try to put different pieces of my financial documents in different trash bins. I suspose burning them would be even more effective.
