I'm sorry, but Heavy Metal's plot is that a guy saves a girl in a few different dimensions and gets sexual favors as a result. Oh, and the dimensional thing was caused by this evil orb. That might qualify for a porno, but not for a Hollywood movie.

Thanks for the spoiler alert. I was going to go see that soon but now you've ruined it.

If I paid $1000 for rent this past month, who owns the house I live in? THE LANDLORD. I still can't do major changes to the house or property, can't burn it down, can't use it as security for a loan... and I have to abide by all the terms I agreed to in the lease, which is a legally-binding contract just like the software license you agreed to. You did read it, didn't you?

Interesting analogy. To make it a bit more correct though, we need to add the following things.

    1. There are only two rental complexes in the entire city.
    2. You have to pay two month's rent in advance, non-refundable, before you can see the lease agreement.
    3. The Landlord can change the lease agreement at any time that he choses. If you don't like the change you can feel free to move out.
    4. The Landlord of the other rental complex uses the same lease agreement as yours
    5. One day you may come home to find that your two bedroom apartment is now just a one bedroom apartment. The landlord has walled off the second one to use as a storage area.

So it sounds like this is saying that publishers can have two buttons. But if one of those is marked "Buy Here at an inflated price and Apple gets 30%" and the other is marked "Buy at a discount on our website", I just don't see Apple approving that. And even if that exact wording isn't used, customers will quickly come to understand what the two buttons mean. So the next logical step is that Apple will banish the second button.

Apple has already demonstrated how they will handle that with the Mac App store. They will simply require that the "in-app" price be the same as the web price. Since Apple holds the purse strings for the app authors, they will recover any penalties for violating this by withholding payment up front.

And people wonder why I don't do business with Apple.
