  1. Re:now all I have to do... on Half-Life 2 - Lost Coast Released On Steam · · Score: 1

You didn't need to upgrade to the silver package to get lost coast. It is freely available to anyone that owns HL2. I bought the retail version (equivalent to bronze) and can play it. Also, many people have been able to play the game with videocards similar to yours. May just have to turn down a few more settings than you're used to.

Related just to your steam comment, i don't think you should let that get in the way of playing half life 2. While steam can get a bit annoying, it's nowhere near as bad as many people make it out to be, and Valve is constantly improving it. You just open steam when you want to play, let it update half life 2, then close it when you are done. No spyware-like tendencies. The only problem i've had with it was that installation took longer than needed because it was the day hl2 came out and the update servers were being slaughtered.

  3. Japanese Developer likes American Games on In the Shadow of Greatness · · Score: 1

This is one of the few games this year that i am REALLY looking forward to. And after reading this article my anticipation just quadrupled. Heck, thinking about the effects had on the character by slaughtering all of these innocent creatures just for one person is enough to excite me. Also, I found this very interesting in the interview with the director: OPM: Of your contemporaries, no one seems to be designing games remotely similar to yours. Are there any games out there that you particularly enjoy? Katamari Damacy perhaps? FU: Mr. Takahashi, who designed Katamari Damacy, is one of the few friends that I have in the industry. Of course, I enjoyed the sequel, too. My other favorite games from last year include Half-Life 2 and Burnout 3. Recently, I enjoyed God of War.

  4. Bond can't jump! on GoldenEye:Source · · Score: 1

My only complaint so far is that they are implementing more control in the game such as jumping and leaning around corners. This can completely change how many of the maps are played and make the game feel very different. I just hope it doesn't turn into basically a Goldeney mappack for CS.

Make sure you differentiate between patches and mods. Patches are officially released, mods are created by the community. I doubt that EA would release patches which remove the blurring and add explicit textures.

  6. Re:Hmmm.. I wouldnt bet on that. on Resident Evil 5 Details · · Score: 1

Capcom has lied their ASSES off for the past year. Remember all the games they said were GC exclusives and would NEVER come out for any other system? Yeah, well RE4 is coming the PS2 and Killer 7 was released on PS2 at the same time as the GC version, meaning it was probably in development WHILE they were telling us it was exclusive. And they never said it WASN'T coming to Revolution. They just said that it is on PS3 and Xbox 360. If it ended up coming out on Revolution they would not have been lying, they would have just held back some info.

  7. Re:i would've loved to have tried it... on We Love Katamari Review · · Score: 1

I highly doubt there will ever be an Xbox 360 version. But if the Playstation 3 is backwards compatible then you COULD wait and buy that along with Katamari Damacy. Though I'd still recommend just picking up a PS2 with the game now. There are PLENTY of other great games to warrant a purchase. And while you're at it, buy a Gamecube.

haha, too bad it's not a cartoon game with japanese schoolgirls. okay, well there might be a few schoolgirls. . . but it's COMPLETELY AWESOME and i'm not some anime-freak japan worshiper. you probably hated The Wind Waker too.

  11. Re:Xbox 360 twice as fast as Xbox? on Next-Gen Console CPUs Not Up to Hype · · Score: 2, Interesting

Actually, the gamecubes best looking game is Resident Evil 4, which I would have to say is by far the best looking game on any console. Heck, even after playing HL2 and oggling the Unreal3 Engine, I recently played RE4 again and it STILL looks damn amazing. But yes, the Xbox typically has better graphics than the Gamecube does, but for the most part the difference is very small (and mostly atributed to lazy developers porting games).

  12. Re:Hotspots on 1000 DS HotSpots By End of Year · · Score: 1

The hotspots can also be used for just downloading new game content though. I remember hearing about how they would have hotspots for DS's in various gaming stores. This would be perfect for people who just want to download some demos or maybe there are a few extras available.

  13. GTA Motorcylce Man on Gaming Glitches Add Character · · Score: 1

One of the things that makes GTA so fun is that it is full of awesome glitches. My favorite is in Vice City. Grab a motorcycle and go searching for new clothes. When you find the little floating clothing icon, drive the motorcycle so it is on top of it and get off. Then get back on so when you get on you also activate the icon. Next thing you know you have new clothes and are morphed with the motorcycle. You get crazy speed and agility with the motorcycle, but you can't fall off. You just spin around and keep going. Makes you super man! Almost . . .
