    I don't suppose anywhere's got these chips compared to Pentium Es and such? It's nice seeing them in gaming performance, but I'd like to know how they compare against the current big chips in video encoding and such.

    And it's my understanding that the data requested in no way actually breached privacy. The searches were not even associated to ISP, let alone user. It was just a big list of terms which people sometimes search for.

    Actually, Konqueror passed second. Some might say this is less of an achievment since the fixes that allowed Safari to pass could be more easily ported into the Konqueror codebase, but I still think the OSS project that passed Acid2 first should probably get more respect on /. ;)

    Safari is an OSS project too.

    Yes, that's the point. BT suck, but you don't have to use them. Want DSL? We've got DOZENS of available companies, who offer easily competitive and comparable (If not superior in most cases) to BT's. Want phone? Got craploads of companies for that too, all you have to pay BT for is your single line rental; which is carefully watched.

    Now, personally, I still use BT. But that's because they're charging me for the wrong package, so I'm getting a really cheap 2Mbit connection ;)

    We already have effectively full broadband coverage at 512 speeds, 2Mbit in most places now. By the end of this year the country will be stuffed with 8Mbit connections, and ADSL2+ and that other one that BT seem to be opting for will be rolling out to real places (As opposed to just some of the capital, and a few of the largest cities), meaning 12 or 24 megabit connections. And there ain't a thing BT can do to stop it, even with their share of the ISP market rapidly shrinking. They probably won't be a real player in the market by this time next year.

    What they don't know is that the mafia run Macs with OSX ;) Obviously, there are standing orders not to allow viruses for said systems, so as to not inconvenience the bosses.

    Those were the development kits, dude. They're just standard Pentium 4 systems, running BIOS. Apple's actual new machines use EFI instead of BIOS, which XP doesn't support. Now, could someone with one of the new machines please find a beta of Vista, and see if that works? :)

    The new machines use EFI, not BIOS. As such, they're not supported by Windows XP.

    However, Vista should run on them. So, I'm sure you'll be able to play Duke Nukem Forever on your Mac.
