My 3 year old system (700 mhz Athlon with a 64 meg GeForce2 Ultra) has a DX6 compatible card, so to recomend what he does based off of "A DX6 compatible D3D capable video card is required." he has to be nuts.
Why back in my day, you had to whistle your own connection into an accousticoupler and you were damn happy if you could get 300 baud.(Yes I realize it's your day too, but you left it out)
I wonder if I can still find it up in my attic, the Atari 400 is in the closest but the belt on the floppy drive is worn out, and emulators fill the space in my heart anywho for now until I get off my lazy butt and fix it.
Oh come on, jeez, why was 4 mod points wasted on me agreeing with the parent of the parent of this post
1, maybe 2 I could see used, but 4?
Where's my redundent or something similiar, all I did was confirm what the guy was thinking, and it's not like I even posted a link to prove that he was correct, I just stated it, the metamods really should have caught it too.
A Mac and BeOS version were also planned/promised, they were even supposed to ship all at the same time in the same box originally, though I completely undestand why they dropped support for BeOS it looks like there isn't any Mac version either.
One word, Ports, true OpenBSD has them too, but not in the rich diversity that FreeBSD, I've yet to find anything that I wanted to try out that the ports system didn't have
Ports is also the reason I'd choose FreeBSD over any of the Linux distros, though Gentoo's and Debian's systems are very close
I like OpenBSD and all, it's just not something I'd really consider on anything other than a firewall, and I'm still using FreeBSD for my firewall as that's what I know best
Why should they be giving out passwords even to people they know?
One of the first things I would ever do on the occasion someone gave me a password was tell them to change it immediately after i was done doing whatever I was doing, most of them gave me strange looks.
IT should never need your password for anything, if they need to login as you for whatever odd reason they should get your permission, wipe out your old password, put in a new temp one, use that, then give you the temp one and tell you to change it.
They shouldn't even know your password scheme as long as a trip through satan or something similiar doesn't turn anything up, or you force some standards on them like not using your logon as your password and other simple security provisions.
either you can build your own windows update server or at the very least download the individual updates and store them just as files
and you can even build them into an iso image, my win2k cd has sp3 built into it so whenever I build a new machine it's already there, and you can do that with most of the updates
Yeah, it really does suck if your'e forced to use a Mac at work just because you're in the graphics or video industry, thank goodness the Macs at On2 were few and far between.
I don't think Sorenson sucks, I know it sucks. I used to work at On2, you know those guys that donated the VP3 codec to the video side of the Ogg Vorbis project, I worked day in and day out with RealMedia, On2's codecs, Quicktime Sorenson, and Windows Media, by far the worst of all of them was Quicktime Sorenson, it's harder to work with(less scriptable and more crashy), provides less quality at low and high bitrates, is overall less tweakable. if you take five minutes to learn how to use RealMedia the end result comes out very nice, the same for pretty much every codec we dealt with, but since Sorenson is less adjustable there's less ability to bring out anything good with it.
We sold compression services in addition to codec, if a customer needed trailers done in multiple format we could do it very easily, we also did frame by frame color correction.
The biggest reason trailers keep getting released in Quicktime/Sorenson is because studios see every other studio doing it. We'd get people asking us to compress in Sorenson and didn't want anything else without looking at a quality comparison because that's what the "industry" used.

And this is the way it's always been, pre patriot act or not, you've always been able to be held as a witness or questioning or for your own safety. Japanese internment camps in WW2 questionable police tactics and other things have shown this to be true and legal, it's just not always a good idea to enforce them, and they could always start enforcing maximum sentances on you for each of your copyright violation, or for touching your wife's breasts in florida is one example someone gave, just because you don't know you're breaking the law just means you probably are.
yes yes Rendezvous is new exciting revolutionary technology that will redefine the world just like Apple did before with a windowing system and a mouse, of wait, that was Xerox
yeah, this is flamebait or trolling, but it's also informational

Real easy answer, the distortion is part of what mp3 just throws away, it's actually quite a lossy codec in some areas.
Like you said, out of band from the codec's point of view is the most likely answer I can give without playing with the files myself.
the yyyy mm dd format is also very good because it makes for very easy sorting

Actually, it's more along the lines of being unreasonable as saying "Windows is an unstable OS"
I'd like to know what letter is a number.
Thank you
No federal money for education, yeah, great place to raise kids.

the title makes it sound like freebsd is just getting dhcp on it's list of things it can do, and why is it in the developers section instead of bsd
then you would be cleared through pretty quickly
so can the ones on windows update

this place has somereally nice compact flash to ata connectors that mount in normal brackets
and this place has adaptors that fit in floppy bays, his prices on ebay usually end up better than those on his web site though

wow guess what, apple optimiziees quicktime for guess which platform? the mac
now if this was actually relevant by using a decent codec that'd be another story
even realmedia is superior to the crap they put in quicktime, sorenson last time i checked
Many many people, quite a few just from getting the flu shot.
And even more die from cancer, but that's quite back burner to the AIDS "epidemic".
I have yet to ever meet a person who has AIDS, I know many people who have or had cancer.
