    The BBC claim that this will save £30M /year, by moving on-line. This does not add up.

    Transponders and multiplex slots don't cost a fortune to rent. You only have to look at all the garbage channels to know that it's cheap. In any case, it shares a transponder with a kids channel, so should only pay half. The programme costs will be the same whatever the distribution method. Furthermore there is a cost to streaming to the internet, which I wouldn't mind betting is similar to the transponder costs.

    I personally have no interest in the channel, but since it it being paid for by licence fee (tax), I want to know that my money is being spent wisely, and accounted for properly.

    Mine is 5 years old and never required an update - I love the font - and the whole device. I occasionally buy from the Amazon store, so that still works. If they try to enforce an update I'll rely on other sources of book files.

    Would be improved political stability of those regions. Whilst it's no excuse, there is a connection between poverty and extreme behaviour. Give those countries a regular income that they earn. The system could create a lot of jobs.

    ..that they told me MS equivalent apps, otherwise how could I ever have guessed what they were: Write - for writing; Spreadsheet - for spreadsheets; Presentation - for presentations. Gosh that was difficult, but I worked it out in the end!

    10 Years ago, my phone only had it's antenna half the time as it was frequently getting broken in my pocket. Without one it was really insensitive!

    The surprise is that they disclose so many. Invasion into personal privacy is only collateral damage at the moment, whilst there are relatively sane governments in power. Things might change in the future.

    I'm trying to decide why Russia is so eager to say it wasn't a bomb.

    Because the Russians are very cautious people and have more subtleties in their language than English. Even if they know for sure what caused it, they'll wait and watch for the most advantageous moment to announce it.

    They're a bit angry today because the UK had beaten them to it.
