  2. Depends on the number of hops and the quality of the rest of the network.

Powerful laws exist to stop criminals on the way to a crime and after they have done a crime.

CCTV was used as part of the "ring of steel" going back to the 1990's https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/... so any "legal restraints" went away a long time ago in the UK.
Now its just all about adding more images to a database to create a whilelist of mil, police, workers ID, people/students with a passport who are in the UK legally.
Every face will get looked at for past crimes and connections to crime, illegal immigration.

  8. The pipe and tube network to the "5G" will get too full of users moving "gig" data sets around.
The better solution would be to build a huge new pipe and tube network.

All the optics and branding of a new amazing service. Less pipe and tube spending to take away from short term profits.

Re "accuracy" AC. When a nation adds in its passport, border in and out images, drivers license, work ID, Thats mil/gov ID photo, "approved" educational ID photo, educational visa ID photo the set of data has the needed "accuracy".
Then add all the past criminal people who have been convicted. Thats more "accuracy" AC.

The citizens left out of the data sets are people in the private sector with no educational, work, mil/police, transport ID.
Thats the whitelist of approved people and a set of people who can be granted photo ID by their private sector employer.
The next step is to add everyone of interest to the GCHQ, UK mil, police, SAS and other nations police/mil.
Then the really interesting people who faked a reason to be in the UK legally but who got seen by the UK/US mi/security services in a war zone.
    Thats more "accuracy" AC.
Police can then add their own intelligence gathered. Further real time "accuracy" AC
The data sets have existed for years and years AC. So has the "surveillance cordon" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/... work and results from work with the UK police, mil, security services on real time digital images.
Every vehicle registration, drivers face, passengers face in and out of London got collected on in real time for years.
Now the tech is able to detect criminals and illegal migrants all over the UK as and when needed.

Criminals need to rethink the "freedom" from police to go wondering around with the tools of crime.
Police will have the gait, face, transport use, cell phone use collected. Voice prints too on any random communications attempted ;)
What the police cant do as the tech is still too expensive, the GCHQ will support. Collect it all is now domestic and police networked.
Illegal migrants have to avoid every attempt to create a work ID, the need for a new bank account with ID and avoid all CCTV :)

  10. The areas been collected on could be a concert, a sport related event with tickets.
The person would then expect to have to show their ticket and accept a bag search. Now with facial recognition.
Such a location has the always had the right to not grant people entry.
People just don't get to enter some private/property as criminals.

  11. It depends.
When the GCHQ and UK mil get interested then its full "van" time. A person is watched in shifts and all their data is collected on.
Then the SAS has the right to move in.

The police are now very political and have to do what they are "told" by political leaders. Political correctness and virtue signalling has reduced the ability to police.
The wider UK police command structure is now very political aware and is held back from policing and getting results.
Policing is now about allowing political leaders to win elections not keeping the community safe from crime.
City crime could be stopped quickly but the politics to allow such searches again would have to be approved politically.
Local and national politics hold back useful stop and search police powers. So crime is allowed to grow the way crime rates grow on the streets in some US cities.

The UK has the full set of "rights" but walking on the streets with the tools for a crime is not a "right".
Staying in the UK as an illegal migrant is not a "right".

The police could stop crime but are held back. CCTV with facial recognition should help with tracking criminals and illegal migrants.

The BND is always happy to work with the NSA and GCHQ. When it was for West German. Now as Germany.

The CIA and NSA always looked after generations of post ww2 German staff to a much better standard than any West German and later German gov/mil did.

Why? Most West German gov and parts of the West German mil spied for East Germany, the Soviet Union.
So the NSA always ensured its "Germans" after WW2 stayed totally loyal to the USA, not any "West" and later "German" political system.
Any "German" gov can pass "laws", the BND will always respond to the NSA and GCHQ first.

The same goes for most of the other clandestine German gov units.
The USA worked on building loyalty to the USA in the German mil for decades. Starting in West Germany and now in Germany.

Talk about jobs, local issues, some past connection with that state. Be happy and smile.
Dont bring the same negative speech to each state and then go full negative about the state you are in.
The locals who have to "vote" later kind of notice what is been said about them in person. They like happy words and political leaders who can give a "great" speech.

  16. Every US base is ready for "war".
Any command that is given will be followed and the "missile" will work.
The troops are tested to follow any correct command.
Its just they have to keep doors open and know not to "fix" things as they don't get the support to fix everything.
So a base is left in a state of poor repair but the skilled people on duty can run from room to room to get it all working when the command is given.
The open doors help with the running part and that is vital to keep the US war ready.
Do the mil know who the command was from and if it was correct?
Paper work on base and the command the printer printed should be a perfect match of that day on duty.

Too few really skilled mil workers/contractors for the buddy system, too many problems.

  18. The people on the "base" need to be able to use the missile systems for "war" when commanded.
The idea that such computers would be networked beyond mil secure networks is "strange".
Space, sea, land tracking systems would send the data along secure networks to a secure base. The US mil "gets" encryption end to end.
Inside that base the only needed service is to use the data to get a missile "war" ready. Everything connected to the base should be mil grade secure.

    What happened?
US staff are now allowed to bring "entertaining" consumer devices to "work" so they feel like staying in the US mil for longer?
The reasons why the rest of the base functions are not working is simple:
The base has to work and people on base need to move around and the computers used are ready for war use.
That needs internal open doors as everyone on base is "trusted" and have to move around to keep the "war" aspect of a US base ready.
The fix would be to bring in a staff of contractors under the "buddy" system to go over every system and get everything working as the US mil expects.

The problem the US has it has too few smart staff to now fix everything globally and under the buddy system rules.
The US mil has to let everything be war ready and not do expected mil repairs due to lack of trusted US contractors globally.

Good new your base is still ready for war.
The bad news is the buddy system is using 2X the trusted staff to watch over each other. Good for US security but the amount of staff needed is limiting give all the mil site the US has globally.
Follow the UK Navy idea and use one contractor/mil person to do the work? The US trusted the buddy system. Bad for security in the UK but the work is done.
The next person can be trusted to notice and report sabotaged/stolen equipment?
Find more people with the IQ and security background? The US mil cant teach IQ so it has to work with the skills it can attract.
Too few people are fit, smart, trustworthy and will work for a low wage in a distant US base.
The fit, smart, people go to special forces. The smart, trustworthy people end up in the NSA, CIA, and all the other agencies.
Good wages, wars and nice locations globally to work in.

Bring in more random contractors who don't pass security interviews?
