Welcome to the first world China. Might I suggest leaning on your government to get some sort of welfare thing going, now that you've made it, all the jobs are going bye bye.
China is a first world country with a third world country inside it.
"You can go east to west coast easily on a Tesla" Easily? It takes a lot of planning for charge stops. Doing the same trip in a gas car takes little planning at all since refueling stops are easy to find, in fact, you can wait until your "low fuel" light comes on before even even worrying about where to get fuel.
"Besides, the amount of people driving 1000 miles is like 1% of all car owners." Agree but many car drivers do go on long trips occasionally 500 or more miles down the highway(essentially, an all day drive). If they have a standard Model 3 as their only car, they have to plan 2 or 3 charging stops (with a 1.5-2 hours each?) while if they take a gas car, even one with a small tank, they only have to make a couple of stops that last 10 minutes or so and no real planning needs to be done.
The point is that electric cars are much more workable than they used to be but there are still some limitations that come with them, especially when it comes to going on a road trip but.
Since ATT found a way to upgrade their system to 5G without spending money, they won't have to jack rates up. Hope all you guys who were baggin' on ATT a few weeks ago about it will shut up now!
I suspect that the provider would behave similar to how email systems do with spam filters to cut off those who blast messages off to tons of recipients all at ones. I suspect there will have to be a way for notification systems (such as the ones that schools use to notify parents of closures) to get white listed.
At the very least, once you require electricity in order for the sport to work, any 'game' that uses only the mind (board games, card games) should never be included in the Olympics. While Darts and Golf are 'games', they require some level of physical skill in order to compete at the top level (Darts shoudln't be in because it is boring, maybe if they played with spears as darts with a giant dart board across a field) (golf because it is on TV too much as it is). .
Would it be a good analogy to compare it to putting a 2 ton boulder randomly on an interstate highway. Sure, it is the drivers fault that they ran into a 2 ton rock but creating such a dangerous situation should carry a heavy burden for the outcome.
My base perspective is...the idiot is getting paid my MY (and yours) tax dollars, and I"m guessing the job description says nothing about surfing porn on the federal dollar?
. Maybe he was working on a government study of Pr0N use when monkeys are given a computer. It could happen, I have seen governments study stupider stuff.
Same here. I have tried using Bluetooth but it isn't reliable and when it fails, you are just out of luck until you have time to troubleshoot/charge/spend$$ on another. With regular headphones, they almost never fail, when they do it is gradual (one ear stops working) and a replacement is fairly cheap and widely available from many outlets (even a drug store in a pinch). (of course, there is a dongle but they are a hassle and the location of the lightning port is not as good as the headphone port is on my current phone)
Until you offer something in a new phone that my phone can't do and I can't live without and am willing to sacrifice convenient headphone performance to do without, I am sticking with my current phone.
"the Carolinas are a bit odd in that they behave sort of like a single state rather than 2 states as you get residency in both states. " . Citation please. I have never heard of this.
The cheapest Antenna that I bought works pretty good but bought two others that were terrible compared to a homebrew made out of coat hangers. I only tried buying outdoor ones because the homebrew is rusting and looks bad. I have repaired it but might just make a new one that is more durable.

Police want to have an excuse to use all that cool SWAT gear.
Except thick books, like phonebooks which hang around in landfills for a very long time.
What is a phone book? Or are talking about a mobile phone catalog of some type? Wouldn't that apply to all catalogs?
I bet this new super computer could go through all that data for you pretty darn fast.

Already taken. The White Flag ministry is a lumped in with the Ministry of Cheese and the Ministry of Monkeys.
The headline held so much promise but it turns out there are no armed robots. Hoping for a real life Robotron.
What we need is an AI that can write papers (on AI).

IANAL but, based on the summary, I assume Comcast could still come in and build the network and compete against the publicly built one.

The GOP failed to cheat the primary system to keep a populist outsider from winning.
Perhaps it is time to go back to the days of party big wigs cutting deals in smoke filled rooms.

In a real conflict, wouldn't it be fairly easy to pinpoint the location of the jamming source and direct a strike on it?
For a sec I thought they were saying the toy company Wham-O was involved.

I thought Kirk got reading glasses because he was allergic to the drug that cured the nearsightedness that comes with age.
Too bad an AC posted that.

Words written on paper by politicians who will be out of office by the time the words are to have any meaning.
