This is just propaganda to get kids to fall into doing a degree in engineering. It's a con trick, don't fall for it! Even if you are very good, it's just not worth it.
If you want a good fulfilling life, forget it, become an accountant or lawyer instead, your career will last longer, year on year you'll be paid better, and with a higher social prestige.
Even the top end of the engineering profession don't match the half way mark of lawyers and accountants.
A wicked thought passed through my mind: could some major Google shareholders have put him up to this? Google could be the only winner in this, shirley?
A way to get the intruders attention is to build the camera into a clock and place it in the window.
They always look at what time it is and you get a full face closeup too.
I used to build these camera in clock things years ago, but now you can get them really cheap from china. The camera doesn't need to be such a high resolution as 'chummy' always comes up real close to see what time it is.
Even if the rivets had been perfect it would still have sunk. The design was such that once a big enough hole was made, i.e. weren't enough pumps to keep the water level down, the water filled to above the bulkheads and swamped the next cell, and onto the next. It was a poor design when faced with the accident it had. IIRC the ships designer was on board and once he was told the size of the hole he was able to tell the captain how long it would take to sink.
The USA is the richest most powerful nation on Earth and anyone who gets in the way of that will suddenly find themselves descending into the stone-age.
I'm a contractor. I do what the client asks, and essentially it comes down to this trade-off: good, quick, cheap. If they don't allow you the time or resources, then they didn't really want good. If you feel you did as good as possible within the constraints, quit worrying, and stop being embarrassed about your code.
Mildly amusing, but one of my developers went home early as she was up all last night fixing her machine after it was affected by this little problem. Never struck me as the sort of person who plays those things. There again, what is the sort of person who plays those things anyway?
Manned missions look cool, but you get more science out of the unmanned missions. Trying to get NASA to concentrate on the unmanned stuff is what they're trying to do.
I just don't get it: someone like me, when I work on such systems just see these kinds of problems and flag them.
So either: no one saw it (which I find very hard to believe), no one flagged it, or was it, as tends to happen: ignored by the clueless management to save money?
Then there is the tin-foil hat reason: they wanted to make it easy for peoples data to be stolen, much like has happened numerous times in the UK recently.
Just knock houses on one side of the road down and then widen the road into a super highway. It is obvious these drivers want to get from A2B so why are these nimbys allowed to get in the way of progress?!
Going on about how most of these drivers are foreign is just a fancy cover for the real problem: racism.
People have got to learn: it's a big world out there. People who are willing to work are moving about it more and more nowadays. If the locals won't do the job, then there is a foreigner who will! You can't lived closeted up, block the road, draw up the draw-bridges, and hope it will all go away, you've got to adapt.
Way to go: mention a character from an old Swedish Christmas TV show that not even many Swedes outside Stockholm actually watched. Guess it's up there with the obscurity of what Vista capable actually means, or not, for example.;-)
You'd think if they've had a requiem then it'd be out of copyright by now.
Anyways, it's got too many notes.
Well, there have been quite a few, there was the invasion of Checkoslovakia, then there's Bosnia, and all that trouble in Ireland.
Myself I often muse why so many mention this spurious EU propaganda point when it is so obviously wrong.
Isn't this like the Overture thing all over again?
There are many IT agencies that are only too happy to supply top notch talent. The talent being known as contractors.
Ixthus fish and a Volvo badge: that combination is my number one worry when I'm out on a bike.

I can't be the first one to read this and think, eh, isn't this just bubble memory?

I'm posting this from a virtualized desktop and it truly sucks.

Oops, better not, these USIPER agents might not have a sense of humor that we are aware of.
Why not rename Gladstone Street, it already has The Pub at the End of the Universe. http://portland.citysearch.com/profile/11495658/portland_or/pub_at_the_end_of_the_universe.html
Darn it, also just discovered that one of the Sys Admins has disappeared off home, using this self same excuse!

Yes, when something goes wrong, as it always does, they certainly will test air traffic control.

As I understand it, it's all about bang per buck.
Does it come with a WOW mouse? I guess it would look something like a hedgehog on steroids...

GPT is always good for a laugh in French.
How is it that you and your employer don't pay NI contributions? Or VAT? Or stamp duty? Or one of the myriad other taxes?
