I know very few in IT that "like" Apple products. We have about 50% Android and 50% Apple and I deal with the Apple users daily. Android users maybe a couple times a month. And that's typically to hand them a new battery. While Apple software quality speaks in logic, real world is a different story.
For the record, I own 2 MacBook Pros, a MacPro, and 2 iMacs as their hardware is decent. All run Windows/Linux almost exclusively.
Seriously, if what Sony does pisses you off, do what I did and put your PS3 up on Craigslist to trade for a 360. I personally didn't use it for Blueray functionality and if I really needed it in my office (where my 360 lives), I can pick up a cheap Blueray for next to nothing now.
Your "Windows Professionals" should be fired. If re-imaging is the only thing they can do to fix that then they are no more knowledgeable than your boss. I've worked with a guy who's thought process was the same. "Well, I couldn't figure it out in 20 seconds so I guess I better re-image it". He was a help desk tech for 13 years (13 years!!!) and was finally fired when new management came in and saw how worthless he was.
And I'm sorry but Linux does not "work just as well as Windows". I support both in my environment as well as about 70 Macs. Honestly, they are all no different from each other. It's a different presentation. Bad or improperly installed drivers on any one of them will break it. Software available for one isn't available for the other. I personally run Mac OS X 10.7, Windows 7, and Ubuntu (Classic session of course) on my MacBook Pro 2011. If only my AMD graphics and Broadcom 4331 were supported under Ubuntu without having to patch firmware and compile it from source.
Yes, Windows can be administered much easier than the rest. That's the fucking point! I'm an admin myself and I like to click things. I'd rather not have to remember a hundred different terminal commands to do something that can be accomplished with a few clicks on a Windows box. GPO's are fucking fantastic by the way.
My iMac's wifi is definitely much slower now. My MacBook Pro (2011) has a random issue with wifi not when waking, but booting. Occasionally, it will not connect to an AP. If I turn off AirPort and try to turn it back on again, it won't turn back on. I have to restart for it to connect again.
If you don't like the specs, the small size, the fact that the battery isn't user-replaceable.....don't buy one. That's exactly why this isn't the only product that Apple sells.
Every product is meant to appeal to a certain audience. Is the iPod Shuffle really for everybody? No. Which is why there's the iPod Nano, iPod Classic, etc.
Damn, I was just thinking the same thing. We just had our staff meeting and everybody was asking when we were switching. I was really hoping for Q3 2008 at least! Argh! Microsoft has foiled my evil plans once again!!!
GPS Scene
I couldn't agree with this more. Physics is mostly based on what we know here, on Earth.
Losing, not loosing!!!! Ffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu!
Maybe you're watching the promo video for the jump, which WAS CGI.
Honestly, was this just a troll post?
'Microsoft is making the wrong choice for consumers.'
They're already doing this by releasing Windows 8.

What the hell man, I read that whole post in Bill Cosby's voice! Now everything I read is in Bill Cosby's voice!!

The iPhone users are too busy with their "higher quality" apps because they are unable to use it as a phone.
Why, because it's an extra $1?
and RosettaStone is an optional component, to be removed in 10.7
Are you sure about that?
