In a global recession on the verge of depression? The Democrats, hands down.
Although 'the Democrats' misrepresents that side of the argument. Sane economists and a few lawmakers want to increase government stimulus. Some Democrats are stupid, however, and want to spend less, just not as much less as the Tea Party. The president, unfortunately, is among the latter.
Increasing government stimulus won't do any good. Hoover tried everything, FDR tried everything, but none of it worked. It took WWII to finally get us out of that great depression. The more money stays out of the government's hands and in the private sector regarding jobs, the better chance the economy has to recover.
And really - you're so confident that Ceglia can convince all these people to commit perjury for these billions that he has, and you completely ignore the fact that Zuckerberg also has billions?
He's talking about Zuckerberg buying the tidal wave of credibiltiy, not Ceglia. If Facebook had a copy of the contract now they could run around and find tons of people to discredit it, but by waiting until the right moment- IN COURT- to release it, Ceglia will get Zuckerberg in a position where he has to admit or deny it is real on the stand, without any chance to vet the contract or discredit it beforehand.
Scratch the above. I just remembered he killed of Gwen Stacy and brought her back to life. It was a real low point for the series.
The low point was when someone at Marvel came up with the idea of the Ultimate universe and someone green-lighted it. The whole thing was a publicity stunt to drive sagging sales back up.
'Politically correct' now just means things that angry white men don't like. Often that includes (and I don't know why) people of other races, religions, etc.
The article is from the Daily Mail, no surpise there.
Political correctness is about neutral language and ideas... you know, Newspeak. If some group doesn't like a word you just change it until they do. The people that don't like that are the sane ones.
Yes, that is his correct full name, although the "v" in von is usually not capitalized. Perhaps it is time for you to turn in your nerd membership card.
I always enjoy when someone comes along and says a movie isn't original, not noting the fact that there are no previous big release movies with Cowboys and Aliens that I can recall. I'm sure there may be some hidden in some B-Movie treasure trove, but the fact that a main line studio did this is refreshing rather than re-rehashing some remake done 4 times already.
The movie itself has familiar 'themes' but that's about it. If you go to that extreme, every movie and story told today has similar themes (boy meets girl, good vs bad, yada yada). The movie was better than usual summer fare, with an interesting plot and an unusual story idea. That is to be encouraged, especially when they managed to pull it off as well as they did.
No regrets seeing this one.
All they did was jump on the comic-book movie bandwagon. Since all the prime/popular material had been gobbled up by their competitors, they(Dreamworks/Imagine) had to pick through what was left. Not saying that the comic version of Cowboys and Aliens is bad(because I actually like it), just that it's way down on the list of recognizable material for the mainstream masses- much like Kick-Ass, Watchmen, Jonah Hex, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Wanted, and The Surrogates. I like that the studios are making films from some of these (mostly)independent comic gems, but let's not start giving Hollywood credit for being original.
Romper Stomper was from the 90s.
Statham isn't much younger than Crowe. I think it's time for a new generation of action stars to take over and I don't care if they are Aussies, Brits, Kiwis or pineapples as long as the people making the film(writers, directors, producers) do a halfway decent job.
Solar is not a pipe-dream. Its entirely possible to make it cheaper than nuclear energy. Its just that it takes time to get the technology to catch up.
We've had practical, efficient solar cells for almost 60 years now. Is that not enough time for the technology to "catch up?"
Honestly, you tolerated all the shortcomings in the OT that film critics would point out and forgave them, but when they repeated it in the prequels, THEN you were bitching about it. Lucas is a lousy director and writer, but he was consistent through all six movies.
There was nothing entertaining in about 90% of the prequels. And FYI, Lucas did not write or direct either Episode V or VI. A pratice he should have followed for the prequels, as well.
I could easily list another 50 directors that have been producing films for greater than 10 years.
Anyone can direct films for more than 10 years, but that's not what the OP was talking about. The point of the list is that they be REALLY GOOD films- films that push the creative envelope and show the director at the peak of their craft. There are exceptions, of course, but compared to the overall number of directors that have come down the pike in the last 60 years, there aren't many. And I don't think you can count someone who made a couple of good films, then did mostly crap for 25 years before doing something good again(looking your way, Clint). I like the "10 Years or 5 Great Films Rule" someone suggested elsewhere here, because that would cover someone like Stanley Kubrick who made 5 truly awesome films, but only 13 total films over 46 years.
EA's installers are notorious for having problems. I'm not so sure it has anything to do with the banning, unless someone here has access to information no one else does.
I just searched for the same area on both Bing and Google Maps and I discovered that Bing is using sat images that are AT LEAST 3 years old, while Google is showing sat images that are around a year old. There's a shopping complex that has been there for just about 3 years and Bing only shows the area having just been cleared for development. So I'm guessing you live in an area with no new development or you just weren't paying attention to the difference in the actual image detail between the two map engines.
Stole everything? Hardly. I agree that it is the best of the Trek series. Next Gen. had some awesome single episodes and Season 5 was one of the best ever, but DS9 overall was incredible.
Something you noticed? Methinks you haven't got a clue.
There is no choice between cable companies for the majority of Americans and it has ALWAYS been that way. I live in a city in one of the top 50 TV markets in the US and I have ONE CHOICE of cable company. I do, however, have several choices regarding that cable company: regular cable, digital cable, digital cable with HDTV package, no cable. So I guess I should be comforted somewhat.
First, The Incredibles was a movie before it was a video game so it doesn't count.
Mario and Luigi are not superheroes. Wario is not a superhero. And the main Dragon Ball Z guys all look buff to me.
Can you actually name any superhero video games where the superhero guys aren't total beefcake bohunks?
And surely you are not saying that Wolverine is a superhero. He would release a couple of adamantium claws on you if he heard you call him that. lol.
Their prices (especially on nerd-type books) aren't that good anyway. I get mine from Nerdbooks.com. The services is always very good, and prices are outstanding.
Shipping for a single book is $5 on nerdbooks.com while shipping is free on Amazon on orders over $25- and most of the nerd books appear to be over $25. So any savings you might get on certain books will be undercut by the shipping costs.
I've been buying from Amazon for over 6 years and have never had any service problems.
I agree that patenting something like that is silly, but have you taken a look at some of the patents in the US over the last few years? It's insane.
Except when it comes to defense. Which is a very large part of the budget.
Defense is 20% of the federal budget- about the same as Social Security and a little less than Medicare/Medicaid.

Because the mainstream Spider-man books have never just done away with existing continuity...
No, they just keep doing it in the same universe which makes way more sense.

Powered space flight WAS a 20th century landmark.
Just looked like a lot of walking to me.
That's usually what happens on quests, when you don't have the luxury of planes, trains and automobiles.

One 3rd party driver does not a multitude make.
You mean there are good Ashton Kutcher movies?
goddam that's cynical...know where I can get one of these grants?
