so for 2 year sthey have been bettinh that only their appis can sell the Cingular accouts?
That flies contradictory to the last 5 years of Mobile Operator experience..
Let me get this straight iPhone to get 1% fo smartphone sales..
Hmm BenQ Mobile(formerly Siemens) is going bankrupt at higher than 1% numbers..
All righty than..
Did not Gate shave the same exact claims when MS Mobile came out?
MS still has not reached 5% yet goals yet..
Folks its not unique..Symbian has the exact Mach like kernel operation..
With your lack of experience I recommend something else..
In my own situation I was away form using Linux for awhile so I got an usb external drive downloaded VMWare VMServer thna anet install image of a linux distro..in my case Debian..
Works like a charm even on the external usb hard drive at 7200 rpm..
and you do not have to mess with dual booting..
Well lets take a current implementation..ie SpeedPass..
How many events of a speedpass stolen and used?
Until we have the stats there is no use of debating ether..
Sys_con gets it wrong again..
Not surprising given the failure in 2005 to apologize to Groklaw's PJ..
The whole reason why running GPLv2 programs along side GPLv3 programs will be hard in a system like Linux is that the tool chains to build programs are moving towards GPLv3. And GPLv3 will have a provision that if building under GPL licenses must give all rights to everyone..
A question if you were a MS stock holder would you not be pissed at MS saying for 8 years that Linux infringed on their IP and yet MS has never pursued a court case?
Than what about that legal minefield of public discourse of top MS management over the past 8 years..
The TSCO case proves that is in fact a minefield..
Someone needs to brush up on stats..
Get back to us when the results are statistically analyzed to measure the results to determine are the results actually anything to worry about..
Have you actually read the license?
GPL v2 gives me the right as code author to use that license forever with a project contrary to points within the Forbes article..
I can use the GPLv2 forever and its legal
There is no Linux penalty as implied by the article by sticking with GPLv2..
Forbes, hire some better writers with some freaking brains
Someone's joking..
Florida does not have jurisdiction as the events happened in Losianna..it woudl be Losiannna courts that would have the case..
Is all law in Florida crooked?
While Mobile is certainly hot among the young demographic groups nad mobile device sales have over taken sales of both servers and desktop PCs by a 2 to 1 ratio is often hard to break into this market as an opne source mobile application solutions company.
What obstacles do you see in the form of:
-Services Marketing
-Tiered Markets
-Funding
-Mobile Operator Lock out
I have wondered at times why Mobile Operators who geographically distant do not band together as VC fund to fund new mobile application/service companies to supply new stuff to hook customers..
This about patch submission and nothing else..
stop the we cannot because of trademark bullshit.. Linux has a trademark and so does Sun Java in Debian..
The bigger questionis will IBM also move towards supporting JFox:
http://www.huihoo.org/jfox
From the China Enterprise OpenSource Community in some manner or will there be a merger of this with ASF Geronimo Server..
I had a choice to install something like Gentoo or Debian Etch or etc on VMWare player..
I choose Debian Etch due to the stuff and issues described and very little problem in getting Debian GNU/Linux Etch operating....and that is from someone who has not really touched Linux in about 7 years
537,000 markets raided but they only came up with 10,000 shops to raid?
Who is lying here?
or maybe we should ask why BSA's biggest office is not in China?
it is ironic about the Eclipse C++ support comments since the Gnome project devloeprs are using Elcipse don't you think?

The boiviosu question..
The equipment they are refrring to is located in Telcom substatiosn and is often telecom equipment or fiber..
In the mid 1990s telcoms invested in updating said equipment..
Who paid for that?
Hint: It was not the ISPs or thorugh ISP fees. It was our own telcombills that paid for that huge investment..
Even if we sue Cable and or Satellite to connect to internet we are indirectly still paying for the internet infrastructure through our telecom bill already..
Why do telecoms have the unabridged right to double charges?
ahem Debian core is Ubtuna folks.. Ubtuna contributes their stuff back to Debian.. Just knoppix and all of debian derive4d distros..
Most never make any money.... The one I worked for in indy never made any revenue in the past 10 years..

If hiring smart people alone was the silver bullet than MS Vista would have been released several years ago..

Given MS parlay into VM solutions competing with VMware.. Mono and SuSE developers are next to be dumped by Novell..
