  11. missing from list on Linux Helping Oracle · · Score: -1, Troll
Oracle dominated its list of 175 large databases. For the first time, databases running on Linux appeared on WinterCorp's list -- and all of them came from Oracle.
You cant ignore other players like sybase. Their database with RAW devides on linux provides very good performance and is very easy to use and set up. But what really surprises me is that DB2 and informix are missing from the list. I cant vouch for DB2 on linux but a well tunned Informix IDS10 instance on linux will beat Oracle anytime. IBM R&D on the optimizer has made DB2 and Informix the best performers.

  17. Not a good option for High End PCs on Silverstone ST30NF 300W Silent PSU reviewed · · Score: 0

ok so you get rid of 1 or 2 fans but you better have good air flow on your case to keep it cool. This PSU seems to run hotter due to it's passive cooling so the case will be hotter, what will make your themally controlled fans run faster, and the result willl be a noisy tower during heavy use. So if you want to make your beast a little quieter those $150 can be spent somewhere else. That and the constant fear that it will overheat and turn off on the worst posible moment.
But this PSU, a fanless video card and an old CPU would make a nice quiet PC for the living room.

Bill Gates was the person with the record of receiving the most spam in the world, like 4 millions of messages daily http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/4023667.stm.
Speaking at a Microsoft event in Singapore, Mr Ballmer said: "Bill Gates (is first) because he is Bill Gates. Bill literally receives four million pieces of e-mail per day, most of it spam." "Literally there's a whole department almost that takes care of it," he said. Mr Ballmer said he was "probably also amongst the most spammed people in the world", because he gives out his email address whenever he makes a speech. But he said only about 10 e-mails a day made it through to his inbox, because of anti-spam technology that filters the messages.
So the solution is to get rid of my current spamassasing set up and devote a department to spam filtering. Good to know.
