I mean you should be able to stream for your own personal usage, but streaming to "the Internet" should be the equivalent of whatever penalty is given to someone selling pirated movies on the street corner, period.

I know it is so easy to want to decry this and claim our rights and freedoms are being violated, but I truly do not believe that anybody has a right to take someone elses work and redistribute it without permission. I am tired of the people advocating for the "right" to take a copyrighted piece of work and share it will millions of people. You do not, and never will, have that right. You did not invest millions into making the product, pay for the redistribution rights and therefore your rights and freedoms are NOT being violated here, you should be clearly penalized for breaking that law.

Please stop lumping these kinds of articles with "Freedom of Speech" or Human Rights. Its is incredibly retarded to associate this with stealing digital content. It would be the same as someone pleading that stealing a car is their human right or Freedom of Speech, but you are NEVER going to win a court case for stealing a car using those arguments. Nobody goes online and cries about how their human rights and freedoms were violated when they are thrown in jail for stealing a car.

And let's put it this way, you would only ever lend your car to family and close friends but you are not going to freely share your car with strangers, so the law should allow you to share content with friends, but not millions of strangers. I think that in all these laws there needs to be a physical analogy associated with digital content. No one was ever fined for lending a DVD to a friend, never. However make a million copies of that DVD and send it to a million people, you are clearly in violation of the law.

As long as the law is explicit about personal fair use versus mass distribution then I have no problems with it and neither should you. Sharing a streaming service with millions of strangers should be rightfully fined, to argue otherwise is pretentious and entitled and to claim it freedom of speech is retarded.

I don't mind that Microsoft has a tablet offering, but the Surface Pro is a disaster.

As a desktop platform it sucks because using the stylus to interact with desktop applications which have had no touch optimization is like trying to cut a lawn with a pair of tweezers, sure its possible, but it's a fucking nightmare in inefficiency.

Also mashing in Windows 8 Metro to the desktop was the worst mistake Microsoft has made because it has pissed off both desktop and new Tablet users.

Expensive, underpowered, and useless with desktop touch, the Surface Pro truly is what was predicted as a fridge with a toaster mangled into it for the sake of appeasing the enterprise crowd unwilling to give up their beloved desktop Apps but want something cooler than a shoebox computer to work on.

I think Microsoft needs to take it all back to the drawing board and try again, if they can survive this round.

    but NOT for monitors.

Basically monitors stopped pushing density once the magic "Full HD" number was reached, and then few manufacturers bothered to do more than that. But considering you sit within 2 - 3 feet in front of a 24"+ monitor, higher densities would be beneficial. I say this after trying to make some tiny UI component look better at 16x16 resolution, with a higher DPI monitor I could put more clarity in to the same physical size that 16 pixel currently consume today.

But for phones, yes, even holding something a few inches from your face you are not going to see individual pixels, making text smaller or more UI refinement is not going to benefit from the engineering effort required to increase pixel density past 500 dpi. Also for TV's sitting back 8 - 10 ft the high pixel density isn't going to offer much in the way of the wow factor.

I have yet to see a single multi-core system run without all cores running SOME process on them, what you perceive as "useless" is actually good distribution of processing power so that all cores are not grinding away at 99% and instead sharing the load.

The difference is value. PC's still cost a lot more (when you get comparatively the same specs) then a game console. I'd rather a $500 investment every 5 - 8 years then $2000 every couple of years to play the current games.

Also, PC's have always suffered from configuritis. When you make a PC game, you have to make the code work on a broad spectrum of hardware configurations, including the shitty budget PC's you get at Best Buy. Even if you just port a PC game to a console, you benefit from being able to streamline the code specifically for a set of hardware that will not change.

Finally, PC's are just not cool anymore. I don't want to have a large empty shoebox connected to my TV, fans whirring away. I also don't want to hermit myself away in a room with a monitor on a desktop sitting in an uncomfortable chair with shitty stereo speakers. I spent' $10k on my home theater system for a reason, not to spend my day in front of a desk looking at 24" TV and think I am cooler than all those people on a console.

Nintendo is dead, they just don't know it yet.

160,000 units sold in a quarter usually represents an EOL console, actually Xbox360 and PS3 are selling more in spite of them being EOL. PS4 and Xbox One individual pre-sales have already surpassed Wii U total sales.

This is not a company on a comeback, this is a company in its death throes.

Nintendo made the mistake of putting ZERO R&D into the Wii U, instead just beefing up the Wii and adding a stripped down DS touchpad gimmick. If sales for Wii U consoles are this low NOW, 3rd parties are NOT going to support the platform. Heck it would even be a loss for Nintendo to invest in their own first party franchises at this point as even if every Wii U owner bought a first party title, they could still not recover development costs of the game. It would take NIntendo 5+ years to re-architect a new system that would match or rival those from Sony or Microsoft, they simply do not have it in them to do so though.

Also if Nintendo is going to do things like clone Mario Bros and call it Luigi Bros ( I mean this is so clearly a cloned title), then their consumers are going to get tired of this kind of lazy cheap ass game development quickly.

Nintendo is the next Sega. They will have to bow out of hardware because nobody wants to buy their hardware anymore, but they still have huge popularity in their software franchise. If their Japanese pride and arrogance doesn't get the best of them, then spinning off Mario and Zelda and Metroid as tablet games will be their only savior. Heck even releasing an official SNES or GameBoy emulator for the tablet might drive them to more profit then the fledgling Wii U and requires minimum investment in money and effort.

And don't be an asshat and claim they will come back from this. Unless you are 8 nobody cares about Nintendo anymore. Everyone over the age of 8 was burned by the Wii and its one trick pony, they will refuse to invest in Nintendo hardware again.

What should happen is a 3 strikes policy where companies/individuals attempt to constantly patent prior art claims should be banned from submitting any patents for a period of time, pretty much penalized for wasting the patent office resources to deny something that was obvious prior art.
