The GIMP plug-in is good but the photoshop feature is better.

The difference is that the GIMP plug-in will do a relatively good job but will require a decent amount of time to do the manual fixes and touch-ups. While the Photoshop feature does a better job and you save time in the manual fixes and touch-ups portion.

We have a two party system. There is no third option. The country had a choice of sticking with the party that ran the country for 8 years or going with the other party. There was nothing else. Sure there are third party candidates here and there but none of them have any real support of the population to put them as front runners or even on a ballet. That is why we have President Obama

Also what is a true American? I live in the United States and I don't even know what the definition of a true American is.

Is being a true American standing up for your rights when their trampled on? Is it serving in the military? Is it pushing yourself everyday all day to be a self made individual?

They called John McCain a true American hero during the 2008 election but all I saw was an old generation of ideas and values that didn't work in the modern world.

George W. Bush was called a real American because he defended us against terrorists at all costs. Does blowing billions of dollars on something that has no return on investment make someone a true American?

And whats this American Dream? I recall it being that if you worked hard and played by the rules you can do whatever you want. Well it feels like the only way to make money in this country is break all the rules and let others do the hard work while taking all the credit. Is this the new American Dream? Is this a true American?

Now depending on the depth of the water it will take either the best diving equipment and divers or a submersible sub / robotic vessel. Were talking millions of dollars to perform this recovery with an experienced crew and no one spilling the beans.

If the military which has pretty much unlimited resources cant recover the material then I doubt a privately funded operation with limited resources and limited technology could find it, let alone recover it.

  13. Re:Awesome! on Heroes of Newerth Open Beta About To Start · · Score: 3, Insightful

There are three games out there right now that follow the original gameplay style of Defense of the Ancients from Waracraft 3

    League of Legends
    Heros of Newerth
    Demigod

League of Legends is by far the easiest to start with if you havent played the original DOTA. Easy matchmaking system, the ingame item system is very friendly to figure out what does what and how to scale items, way better then Heros of Newerth or Demigod. The developers have been very supportive of the game, theres typically a new hero added to the game every 6 weeks or so. Unfortunately on a hero release the character is usually over-powered but fixed within a week or so. Theres complaints about balance issues but thats because League of Legends is based on teamwork and not that one man Rambo which is seen in HoN or DOTA. A team that works together can easily take out the 5 man team that act like Rambos.

Demigod has fallen off the face of the map since the game was extremely buggy and multiplayer didnt work for several weeks after launch. Also, I believe the developers have only added 1 single hero to the game so far in about a year and a half of release? I gave up on this game after the developer wrote a four page paper about how they fixed the multiplayer and the steps they took, it was posted on Slashdot some time ago. They never really fixed it and it was still laggy and performance would drop late game when the creeps would over-take the map causing games to go to a crawl, crash, lag out.

Heros of Newerth is definitely not for those who have never played the DOTA style of gameplay. The crowd that plays HoN is extremely serious and will eat you alive if you screw around or suck. This is the games main problem because it really turns people away from playing it and its not the developers fault its a community problem. What I like about HoN though is that the game is way more stable then LOL (LOL uses a launcher which can crap out a lot) and its built on the foundation of competitive gameplay with features lacking from the other games, Observation mode, blind pick, one by one pick, etc.

Yeah because an official CD from Maxis or Sierra was somehow manipulated after final pressing to have malware on it.

Malware was spread during the 80s and 90s with floppies as it was easier to manipulate the data once it left the manufacturer.

Most libraries only had CD versions of software because it couldn't be tampered with or accidentally erased or over written as easily.

Do you have any understanding of the population of China? I think they will sell those good just fine without the USA, the EU or Africa for that matter.

No they wont. The high end products they produce cheaply cant be purchased by their own people because their own people don't have the wealth to pay for a high end good such as an iPod, tv, computer. This is why they have a ton of cyber cafes everywhere.

Also they might have a large population but a good portion of it is in the country where they live on farms and don't have a use for a high end product such as a TV or iPod because they don't have the infrastructure to support it.

The only reason China has been doing so well is because they cut corners everywhere. Cheap labor, cheap resources, disregard for implementing proper environmental laws, anywhere they could cut a corner they would. Compare a Chinese built automobile to a US / Japanese / European. The Chinese car will be extremely cheap compare to other countries but would disregard any safety or environmental standards.
