I don't like them. They are almost as bad as MDI. Two level window/document management sucks.
There is nothing major wrong with X (well, now that we got Render and Xft extensions). X has nothing to do with ease-of-use. Most of the problems are in the (too-many) toolkits and apps.
Not really. OS/2 WPS was both simpler and more powerful than any windows clone (KDE/GNOME). We need to look more in that direction.
But windows 3.11 did break the OS/2 compatibility.
Imagine the power the light bulb could save if it didn't radiate useless 2.4GHz interference in a half mile radius.
Do you have a mouse on your precious console ?
at first I read that as the "diagram of the red-head"
The cursor keys in VI are hjkl! I too, would prefer awsd ;)
gainward geforce4 4200 VIVO has video in/out. I'd buy it in an instant if vivo was fully supported in linux using open source drivers. Alternatively I'll need to find some radeon with video in/out functionality. External tuners (like in VCR) are better anyway than a typical onboard one.
/me too what we need are mini black holes on the surface
Seconded.
It's about time commercial software licenses would be standardized and classified. Does anyone at all actually read them before clicking "I accept". I know of no one.
I certainly won't be getting any neural implants that could control what I can and cannot think or remember...
Found it: Google search for "vtrek game" finds: http://www.gamesdomain.com/directd/2052.html
One of the most addictive trek games. This could be a really cool game to reverse engineer.
The game that made the difference for me was the Wing Commander. On 386. For 2D stuff, the Amiga was still great, but 3D PC did better.
What about no outlook?

Good old days... I remeber playing DOOM II under OS/2 dos emulation in 4MB ram, because OS/2 had much more efficient paging algorithms than DOOM had internally (DOOM needed 8MB ram to run well).
Personally, I hope this misfeature is never enabled by default.
I have the same problem with www.formula1.com
It's only for people afraid to use multiple windows. (especially on unix where many window managers are really crap at handling many windows in a usable fashion). Alt+Tab is a must-have.
Tabs are no better than MDI. They both suck as far as I am concerned. They just complicate the user interface for no good reason.
They want to convert the internet into the TV.
Personally, if I can't play them under linux, I'm not buying another DVD again.
