MS should make the setup of windows like the one of most linux distro's.
Make it possible to select what you want to install.
And not integrate everything into the OS.

Thats sounds similar to what i have on school. Or IT managers are so stuborn. They think microsoft is the only company that makes operating systems. Get over it, IT managers are in most cases the bigest pc noobs.

The 60 - 60 - 24 - 7 - 12 scheme is verry logical. 60 is from the babylonian math system that was 60numbers based instead of 10 numbers based math system we use. 60 can be diveded by mutch more numbers so using it to solve complex things comes out rather easy. 24hours is about the time it takes the earth to spin 1 time around its y axis. 32days in a month is just a number that is used to make it easy to express seasons. 32 + 29 days is to make the shedule right. So its verry logical. And i don't actualy have problem with timezones. Its easy to calculate for me since i am in GMT +1 zone:)

  17. Re:Microsoft Reliability on Linux Feels Growing Pains · · Score: 0

Kind a, thats why i lost all my data of 4 years because of the service pack 1 installer. Since then i hate microsoft realy. BSD and Linux are still the best choises for things like servers and programming AND DESKTOP USAGE. The only thing that is wrong is that its described as hard to use by many people. Infact its just because you guys are used to windows. Once you are used to Linux you will find windows hard because you don't have full access to the configuration etc... I hate it when i am forced to use windows on school. I use linux at my home desktop for just about everything. Windows is only on it to play games. And that is the mistake of the developers of the games. The only problem i have is the lack of drivers with some hardware. And that is another issue that needs to be fixed by the company that makes the hardware.

  18. Failure #(error to high number to display) of M$ on Windows Vista & IE7 Beta 1 Released · · Score: -1, Troll

okay first of all lets start with explaining the shorter terms i will use: M$ = Micro$oft M$N = Micro$oft $pywar Ntwork M$DN = Micro$oft $pywar Dvlopr Ntwork (the $ and signs show how mutch they want money for crap) M$DN is to expensive, so nobody can actualy test vista without paying 100$ atleast. Vista is ultra slow i think. Doesn't run on older pc's. And can be considerd as the greatest crap ever made. Now its time for Mac and Linux to strike. Especialy Apple has its chance now. Vista its requirements are too high, i don't think you will be able to play UT 2K7 on it once that comes out, because of the amount of memory and cpu that vista needs.

That would be a major improvement. And now to the subject, They are paying for the support. Switching from windows to linux isn't easy. Especialy for schools, if you use software like autocad that doesn't work on linux you have major problems with that. So i think they are paying for more then only linux but for other applications too.
