I think, if you read your own links you will find that all they are saying is, that while the player might play in forgin leagues. To play in the World cup for a Team, he must have the nationality of that Team. So it's highly unlikly that the players from Equador play the next time for Brazil, unless they all change there nationality.
What you can have is a Trainer with a forgin nationality, but not a player!
A quick Froggle search finds 1GB SD cards for around 35$. And
considering that a minidisc HD player retails for arounds 300 to 400 bucks. And a noname Mp3 Player whicht takes SD cards for about 60, i still would go with the MP3 player.
BThe Funny thing is, that Sony could not do that, even if they wanted to. ecause they would bypassing a copy control mechanism which is against the DMCA. Sweet Sweet Irony!
If you want Free Multiplayer you can always use things like Xlink Kai. Of course it doesn't have all the Bells and Whistles of Live but for that it is free.
A Data DVD is usually spinning faster than a CD Audio Player. For a nice experiment try copying some Data from a DVD in your Laptop during which you start moving it from Horizontal to Vertical.
Here in Germany, if a game is indiziert, the Publisher can't advertise it and it can only be sold under the counter.
It happens not that often (mostly because the games are pre censored like green blood and the likes), but it happens.
Luckly if life 20 km from the dutch border, so it is for me not that bigga deal.
Here in Europe there are more then 10 Games eye toy out(and more coming) and more offer some kind of Support for it (i.e. Sony cameo etc.)
So i don't think that the Eye toy counts as an Add on Failure.

He wrote Brain from "Pinky and the Brain" not Brian from "Family Guy"
