While not any app can access the NFC in an iPhone directly, any entity can leverage the NFC via Apple Pay. I have plenty of reward cards, even tickets, airline tickets, etc. in my Apple Pay Wallet. What Apple requires for an entity to be in the Apple Wallet I don't know, but I don't believe they are stifling innovation. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I just haven't heard of anyone being turned down to be part of Apple Pay.
I've got decade old music files that Apple Music did not delete from my Mac. Apple Music also properly uploaded those files to iCloud so I can stream them to my iOS devices.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't the Surface products been some of the worst selling products ever? I remember the sales of the first Surface were so bad that Microsoft was sued by investors for misleading them with the sales numbers. If I am correct about surface sales, why would you 'take cues' from a flop?
I purchased my first Macintosh in 1990. A Macintosh LC to replace my Apple//e. I would have purchased a Mac much sooner, but I was waiting for a color model I could afford. I couldn't see moving from my color//e to a black & white Mac.
When did you purchase your first Mac, and which one was it?
Why would Microsoft allow this? The PC manufactures must have forgotten about Microsoft shutting down the selling of machines that dual boot Windows and BeOS from the factory. Or also how Microsoft doesn't allow vendors to even advertise machines with non-Windows operating systems. (Ask Dell why they don't advertise their Ubuntu machines.) Microsoft runs the show here, unless the manufactures plan to give up their rights to sell Windows.
Linus is not a good reference. He left KDE for Gnome when KDE went from 3.x to 4.x. Now he's ranting about Gnome since they went from 2.x to 3.x. The guy simply doesn't like change. Next he'll move to XFCE, and then rant when they move from 4.x to 5.x.
Same here, I updated to IE8 from Windows Update as a Critical Update and it plainly asked if I wanted to make IE8 my default browser or keep my current default browser.
Do any of the people that I see complain daily about things not working in the 64 bit operating systems even have over 4GB of RAM installed that they need to access?
Microsoft cited Mono, Samba, and OpenOffice as being covered for use by Novell. If you did believe him, you would have to switch to BSD with none of those technologies. Samba is distributed with Mac OS X as well.
Funny. Windows Media Player 10 was pushed out as optional update, but a new version of Internet Explorer is now considered a high-priority update.
Does that mean all the security patches for IE6 couldn't secure it, and that we must upgrade to IE7 for safety?
Does it mean the adoption rate of IE7 is so low compared to Firefox 2.0 that Microsoft needs to 'make' this a high priority update?
I bet they won't let us ask any question we want about DAoC. Like why they allowed radar users, why they allowed bots, etc. We know the answers of course, but it would be fun to hear them say it.
Did they count all the ATMs running WinXP???

Spock: "Jim, the fan films are dying." Kirk: "Let them die!"
FLIP IT REAL GOOD!
Here. Android is where? Here! Where's here? Exactly!
Don't do it, stay happy and sane!
The entire issue simply doesn't come up with closed source, because no one outside has access to the source code in the first place.
Except for offshore contractors from all over the world.

It must be exciting for them to monitor me downloading Fedora or openSUSE.
Welcome to the Post-PC Era. Invented by Apple, designed in California, built in Shanghai.
"Hey computers are fun and all, but I don't want to be an outsource monkey" Brilliant.

Employment in Texas is 'at will', you can leave or they can terminate you at any time.

Has this been confirmed by Netcraft?
He sounds eminently qualified for Microsoft.
Hope they are using Novell SUSE Linux, if not they are open to litigation from Microsoft for patent infringement.

Just let Trek rest in peace, we have BSG now.
