Hmm... yes. The generally accepted implication of the "tango" comment though is that both parties in a conflict are to blame. Were the Israelis to not participate (thus absolving themselves of this supposed blame), they would cease to exist based on the actions of the terrorists. Perhaps a better retort on my part would have been "When given the choice to dance or die, what can we do but let feet fly?"
Um... maybe because it's a game?!? Lots of folks who play air guitar or hum along with the radio have no interest in actually learning to play a real instrument or take voice lessons. You actually pointed out the major difference in your own post: "You can do your own recording and production work...". It's work to learn to play an instrument. Sure, it's worthwhile work, if you care about the learning and playing, but it's still work whereas Rock Band/Guitar Hero/Donkey Konga are games, played for fun. You know about fun, don't you?
Ernie Ball - Model For Open-Source Transition?, from August 21, 2003. Is there a record for longest time between a dupe and the original story? Also, please note that the date of the above story is four years old, and TFA states that Ernie was very happy "since jettisoning all of Microsoft products three years ago". The Ernie Ball's story, while very interesting, happened seven years ago.
... lots of money here. Not likely. From TFA (emphasis mine):
The Seagate drives must have been purchased in the U.S. from an authorized Seagate retailer or distributor, separately as a Seagate product that was not preinstalled into and bundled with a PC or any other type of electronic device.
"France only wins when America does most of the fighting." Most? I think Britain and Russia can claim the last one. Sure, but I don't think France can.
American Revolution
- In a move that will become quite familiar to future Americans, France claims a win even though the English colonists saw far more action. This is later known as "de Gaulle Syndrome", and leads to the Second Rule of French Warfare; "France only wins when America does most of the fighting."
I don't think the problem is going to be with e-mail (does anyone make a device anymore that doesn't do POP/IMAP? Okay... besides RIM*?). The problem is going to be with getting over-the-air calendar, task, and contact info. Right now, just about any device can get all of this information from our enterprise systems using standards-based protocols (IMAP, OMA-DS/SyncML) - BlackBerry, Palm, Windows Mobile, and many other phones. AFAIK, the iPhone is going to support only tethered/bluetooth syncing, with no OTA sync other than e-mail. That is where Corporate IT can say "Sorry, but you can't use the iPhone with any calendar/task/contact system, not just ours..."
* even RIM can use a forwarded copy of your POP/IMAP to your BIS account, use your POP/IMAP password on their BIS (stupid) to get your mail for you, or use third party conduits like NotifyLink. No third party conduits for the iPhone? Oh... that's gonna be a problem then...
So... you're saying that it's the consultants' fault for not pointing out to the Boss that it's not the web site that is broken but the browser? Seriously... would we even be having this discussion if more Bosses who spend their money with Microsoft called up their MS reps and tore them a new one because IE doesn't work with the standard code on their web site? What if (more) sites had proclaimed "works best with Netscape or Opera because IE's CSS engine is broken"? Would Netscpae still be around as something other than a Digg-clone? Would Opera have more than a miniscule share of the browser market? Would IE have been fixed by a patch years ago?
You insensitive clods! My puppy died late last fall!
Hmm... I thought it was a mis-worded reference to Mr. Roger's Neighborhood of Make-Believe and its electric model trolley...

Um... no. When one wants the other to not exist, neither acceptance, deliberation, nor ignorance are viable options.

RTFA? RTFC. If I was commenting on TFA, I'd R it... I was commenting on the Charles Krauthammer quote...
I'm sorry, but aren't "economic reasons" perfectly *good* reasons to shut people out of home ownership? If you can't afford it, you can't afford it!
I dunno... I'd take everything that guy writes with a grain of salt.
Since you don't appear to be using it, can I have your pinball machine?
Now, please stop promoting nonfactual bullshit.
Um... this is /. we're talking about here...

Well... whatever it is, it's likely been slashdotted off the Internet by now. Well done!
Thank you for flying with Johnny Cabs!
Doesn't London get destroyed by dragons?

We homeschool too, but I hope I never have to deal with a student calling in a bomb threat!

CSS Hacks are evil... if the browser is broken, let it break.
