The project is basically a huge audio amplifier (seen in the movie) amplifying a signal modulated by an embedded computer. This signal is similar to that which drives your speakers, but instead it drives the motor(s) in such a way as to not damage them with acceleration and braking forces.

The expensive components in this amplifier are large bucket capacitors and rediculous huge transistors or valves.

The whole rig would cost roughly the same to build as a small radio transmitter, plus the cost of modding the car itself (connecting the motor(s) to the drive shaft) and building the computer and controller.

It would be great to see the following prices suggested by traders or users below:
    10KW Transistors / 100MV Capacitors / 10KW Motors / Embedded controllers i.e. ARM7 / etc...

P.S. Thanks for asking the question, I was thinking EXACTLY the same myself. The cars currently available are beyond my financial reach, but the fuel isn't ...

It seems from the general tone of comments that nobody has actually signed and looked at this site. First, an earlier poster was correct in saying that there are much fewer questions than 50; and your email is verified (no different from many other companies and sites).

I have signed up, the confirmation arrived within seconds and on the welcome is a message it may take several hours for a sysadmin to allow access - but no, I'm downloading PDF's straight away so it must be automated.

It's just marketing; but Theo is right about that not being completely free, as in free speech.

I am sorry if I was misrepresenting Hot Coffee - it would appear that eventually after our little flame war, we stand in the same place. My original comment actually was more aimed at saying "I like Oblivion, maybe it should be adult, but I don't want the scandal that happened with GTA."

I appreciate your sensitivity regarding rape and wish to point out that I have seen lots of press articles referring to rape in Hot Coffe.

Therefore, no hard feelings and I retract my overly political statement..

The issue is not whether I approve, you're correct about this, it's whether the game should be compared to Hot Coffee et al. Oblivion is emotionally deep, hence my description as "murder". Therefore it is an adult game, and anybody who disagrees after really playing it is underage anyway!

Just to make it clear again, I like Oblivion, Hardcore, and eMule. I don't like rape and the encouragement or incitement to do so, and hope Oblivion is not associated with Hot Coffee and other last-minute changes. Clear enough for you ? RTF POST!

  25. Adult Quests on ESRB Changes Oblivion's Rating to 'Mature' · · Score: 1
The game contains several obviously adult-themed quests - the killing of a "skooma" dealer ("skooma" refers to an in-game drug) and a quest where you murder (as the game is quite compelling and realistic, yes, murder is the word i choose) three women who entice married men out to a farmhouse amnd ask to strip, followed by robbing their possessions!

Also, blood is evident from the beginning, and the world is highly interactive with stealing for the sake of it (takable items having no monetary value or use - i.e. planters, most of the plates etc.

In other words, IMHO, this was obviously an adult game. I love the game, and I hope that this re-rating will not invoke the flame wars caused by the frankly immoral (not just adult, immoral) Hot Coffee Mod and in fact GTA in general.

    Phew.
