If the average gamer wants his franchises like they remember them, I would think that Cel-da would be THE game to own.

Compare the visual style of Zelda I, Zelda LTP, and even the N64 versions to Celda.

Now compare it to Real Zelda.

Yeah the first batch were cartoony, not realistic. So the realistic version is going to be trying something different.

Me personally remembers the storylines and gameplay of previous zeldas before I think of graphics. That's what I like about my franchises, continued excellence in the game, not the graphics.

Of course I can't wait till GF4MX users try and play.

Bear in mind HL2 is supposedly very scalable so Doom III should be too. Although I can't imagine it being as immersive without a great video card.

I mean honestly, you do not ink a major corporate deal knowing you can't deliver. I don't know what Valve was smoking to stick to last september's release date up until the very absolute last second. The interviews with Gabe even talk about how it wasn't released because it just wasn't finished, not because of the code leak.

No, if I had to pull specs from my own ass I'd say it's more like the following.

    P3/4 Athlon 1.5Ghz
    256Megs RAM
    Geforce2/4 MX Videocard
    40gigs Harddrive space
    CD-RW Drive

The specs in the article are maybe for a high end system, but for an average system in 2 years? MS isn't that stupid. Unless they plan on creating some sort of enthusiast market? Unlikely though.

Nothing on the horizon seems to make use of any of what you mentioned, so it'd be safe to buy either card and be totally happy.

There is no such thing as an upgrade that will keep you happy in 2 years if you need to see all the eye-candy. Even though the 6800 supports PS 3.0 and 32bit I highly doubt it'll hold a candle to the cards that are coming out in the future that will coincide with applications that take advantage of these extras.

I've seen families with both parents working who still have credit debt.

Maybe we should try and just live within our means, even if it does mean not wearing the latest fashions, etc?

We make so much money compared to the rest of the world, yet we seem to be working more and more. How can that be? Shouldn't we all be rich enough to enjoy, at the very least, our families?

I can understand, it must be hard to come back after a 60 hour workweek to a screaming kid, a spouse who also had an exhausting workweek. Would you have the energy to deal with all that?
