I'm guessing sex in low g might not be all it's cracked up to be. Imagine spinning around and around and around, not exactly the best time to be getting motion sickness eh?::)
Well I managed to get the concession that any popup would only be 400x145 and be in the upper left of the screen, and appear only once on the first visit to the site, not every page refresh.
And our success isn't by the number of clickthroughs. But rather the number of people that clickthrough and actually signup/purchase whatever.
I guess I'm in a better position where our popups are better targetted to our audience (you won't see random X10 ads).
I know most casual gamers don't have a 5.1 surround system, much less a 7.1 that the newest gen of cards support.
There is one game I just read about that is focusing more on the sound of the game. It's called Black, and unfortunately I can't find a direct link for info from google. (Pretty poor name for a game)
But they want the firing of the gun to be actually like firing a gun. Nice LOUD bang, richocets, etc.
I think I'll try KQ2 (don't think I ever beat it), but I'm hesitant because that which was amazing then might be better remembered than attempted to be relived.
Well I don't think that everyone would have a Mainframe to connect to, to run spreadsheets. Now every business large and small can easily keep records that would have been done by hand.
I remember watching something about the early days of PC's and there was an interview with one of Visicalc's creators and he discussed the first time he showed it to an accountant.
The accountant supposedly started visibly shaking and proclaimed "Do you realize just how much time this will save me??"
I just found that bit interesting for all the people who hold onto "the good old days" and question if computers have really helped or hindered us.
In my mind I try to imagine just where we would be if we still only had large main frames. The power of the PC is truely amazing.
(sorry just got back from a workout and am high on endorphines (or whatever they are))
Your hobby could be cars, computers, gardening, baseball, crack smoking, but as long as you manage to not let it eat up all your time you'll be fine.
Every relationship is a mixture of us time and me time, if you're no longer interested in the us time then why is there even an us?
Comeon now, unless you're under 22 it might be time to grow up a little. Unless you don't want to, which is fine, just don't come back to/. asking, "I'm 30, fat, and balding how can I get a significant other"
it's not much less powerful than a PS2, so in terms of graphic design and what have you we're still working with a system that will require extensive development time
Why will they have to make full use of the graphic power of the PSP? If their intent is to make fun games you can play 15min at a time, you don't need to go implementing all those particle effects.
Case in point WarioWare. You come up with something like that on PSP I don't think the development time will be hurt by the power of the handheld you make it for.

Ugh they're also the most highly addicting!
Me: "Sure I'll join your little fantasy league, I don't know baseball all that much but I like stats"
Me (2 months later): "Oh dear god who do I start? This batter is better under windy conditions against this pitcher when the announcer has more barritone voice, but the other is batting.400!"
and I don't have to spend $300 - $600 every 12 months to keep up my video card/ram/processor/motherboard/whatever.
I try and spread this little bit of knowledge whenever I see this said.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SPEND HUNDREDS OF $$$ EVERY 6,12,18,24 MONTHS TO PLAY NEW PC GAMES.
Unlike consoles, PC games are made to scale on different systems. So you might not be able to run it with full graphics and shadows, but you can certainly play the latest games on "old" hardware, and have them look good and play well ta boot!
Considering they mentioned that up until NVIDIA's and ATI's newest video cards, which are really just now trickling into the market, they weren't getting more than 3FPS I don't think they'll be releasing anything for at least two years. If it bogs down a tip-top machine today that only 10 people own I don't think a year is enough time.
Funny I get more work than I can handle, yet I somehow manage to squeeze it in.
Maybe the Court should be made up of IT people. We get the job done. Period.
8000 cases? No problem I have a bash script I wrote in '97 that will take care of it.
LOL, you brave soul! You deserve the medal of valor. You truely will go where no /. man has gone before.
/. would my comment get Insightful rather than Funny.
And only on

I gotta say, as much as people bitch about popups. The one popup we have to have on our site (damn sales) is by far the most successful ad we have.
Until people somehow become more intelligent, SPAM and Popups are not going to go away.
Advertisers wouldn't find ways around popup blockers if the popups didn't prove profitable.
I'm just saying, I hate them too, but hey if they work, they work.
Oh that's what I meant. I was refering to how many people have a 5.1 speaker system for their computers.
Cause like you said most mobo's have 5.1 already there, it's just a matter of connecting everything correctly.
If you lock on with L, use the stylus to look, and move with the pad, how do you fire?
Tap crazily at the touchscreen? I can tell you that's going to get old in about five seconds.
That's the one thing I didn't get when was reading about E3. You're one hand short it seemed.
Luckily aliens have 4 arms!

It's got built in firewall, I'd say it's a router/basestation first and an iTunes/print server second.
Granted, no extra LAN ports, but right now I have 4 unused ports on my wireless. I bet this will fit into a lot of homes.
lol, I'd mod you up. To tell the truth I was more half dead than high.

Actually it's not so much a 3D graph as it is a flatline of the server's heartbeat.
Mod him up, he's right.
It doesn't change the fact I'd really enjoy having one of those SFF PC's.
Just gotta wait a little longer for the next socket design for AMD64 to come out.
nerdy rush some of us get
While this isn't the most complex or intuitive hack, I got quite the rush from seeing it.
In fact, I might need new pants.
(I joke about the pants, not the rush)
I believe the boards are all "pico"BTX meaning they're built for Small FormFactor (SFF) PC's. Such as the one's Shuttle Makes
Hence the lack of expansion slots.
And if you read through it, BTX is an Intel design not adopted by AMD yet. So I wouldn't worry about moving to Mac right now.

Just a friendly FYI
Excellent, googling for Fischer-Tropsch is much more productive than, "Nazi coal gas" ::)
Thanks for the reply.
Only reason I'm writting this useless comment is that it was brought up in conversation last night.
The Nazi's during WWII managed to make gas from coal. Is anyone knowledgable as to the downsides of doing this?
I'm guessing it was terribly desctructive to the envrionment. But was the gas produced as good as 87 Octane you get from today's pumps?
Thanks I'll have to give it a try. I started up AutoGK last night. But I'll give DVX a try too.
Well I dunno about that.
