This movie is hit and miss. The bottom line for the Blender Foundation is to get people talking about Blender. Nobody really expected their underdog 3d program to be able to produce amazing visual effects. The more of these movies they produce, the more people will be talking about Blender.
However, what they could stand to produce are movies that tell a more compelling story. Is it visually compelling? Sure, but Tears of Steel leaves the audience with all sort of questions about what is happening, who the characters are, what is at stake....and we haven't a clue.
Hey guys, we should follow in his footsteps!
We could pirate movies and give them away for free to those in the military, but this guy already has it covered. No, we’ll do one better - we’ll pirate movies AND video games, music, and any other easy to pirate goods.
But why stop there? We could give away to those with less than fortunate circumstances. We’ll give it away to those with leukemia, the poor, single mothers from abused households, people with clinically diagnosed depression, and the list just goes on and on.
We’ll be generating so much good will, no one could possibly be upset with us. Content owners will practically be begging to shake our hands saying, “Wow, how come we never thought of this before?”
In their defense (for defense sake, not that I am looking to justify their actions) the army did have a reason to shoot at the van, as is summed up by reddit user Deviltry:
"...They use vans to come up and pick up the bodies, but truth be told they don't care about the bodies, they come to get the weapons/rpg's.
We have made it VERY well known throughout the country that they cannot even make it look like they are going for weapons. The problem with this situation is one i've seen personally on multiple occasions... The Van pulls up, takes the bodies of the men, leaves any children/women, and takes all the weapons. Then they take pictures, and blast them across the airwaves saying Americans murdered unarmed women/children."
"when suddenly to my surprise he did the mash. He did the monster mash. The monster mash"
I first read that as " when suddenly to my surprise he did the smash. He did the monster smash. The monster smash" and I was thinking, "If I got a virtualboy for Christmas I would have done the same thing."
Did people actually go to watch this guy? What did they say to each other when he finished?
"Hey, remember the part when he was all like 3, 5, 1, 7, 4, 4, 2, 5, 6, 6, 2, 1, 0, 4, 5, 7? That was wicked sick"
"Yea, yea, and then he followed it up with a 4, 2, 4, 7, 3, 1, 1, 5, 2, 2, 5, 9, 0, 2, 3 and I was like ROCK ON Akira, ROCK ON"
The other proposed name was the Power Nintendo Entertainment System. But then Nintendo realized they would have millions of children saying "Mommy, can I get a PNES for christmas?"
After seeing all these strange articles, I have come to the conclusion that these are not April Fools jokes. A real slashdot april fools joke would have been witty and subtle. It is obvious that someone is using CmdrTaco/Zonk to spread their OMG Pony/ Barbie propaganda. Probably communists.
If you are reading this CmdrTaco/Zonk, message for help by making the first letter of each word of the title of the next article spell out "SOS". Be discreet about it so that your caputures remain unaware. We will send the A-Team immediately.

The Europeans have themselves covered with a nice consumer protection law, but what about Americans?
I want to bring this to small claims court in the states. Can anyone provide some good points of argument using US law that might help win the case?
Note to self: Next time I'm feeling sick, stare at pictures of Amy Winehouse

At least he stuck to the quote. We all know if he had it his way he'd have been like
"**** YEAH! I'm on the moon BITCHES!"
the spammers might get some "unwanted e-mail" in their "maleboxes".
That's no moon... No, that's my wife!

They could have also added a warning to warn users about tripping over the extension cords. I almost died falling down the basement stairs.
My eyes! The googles do nothing!!!!!
You guys are totally invited to my sleepover.
Sleepover? What's that? Is it a Beowulf cluster of women?
