I actually like Vista. No, really, I do. And I used it on a 4+-year-old laptop for 6+ months until the mainboard gave out. And seriously, everything worked just how it was supposed to.
Oh, and before you ask, I used Ubuntu for roughly a year, almost exclusively, before moving back to XP and subsequently Vista. I've been using XP SP3 for a while, and will be upgrading to Vista Ultimate (which I got for free from http://wfp.microsoft.com/) at some point in the near future.
Seriously, I've had next to no problems with Vista (even though I started using it the week it came out). What's the big fuss about it anyway?
I'm not disagreeing with you here, but how can you stop people from exploiting kids if you make possession legal? Make obtaining it illegal? That seems like a huge loophole waiting to happen...
What if these new universes are actually our own universe, and we are contained infinitely within ourselves? And conversely, one of an infinite number of elements that are within ourselves?
I really shouldn't be allowed on the internet this time of day.
Oh sure, blame the Jews. Very original. You're all a bunch of freaking idiots. Every single one of you. I wasn't being serious. It was a joke at my expense, because people always blame us for things, so I was remarking on how scapegoating Jews is getting... passé, if you will.
See? It's not funny now that I had to explain it, now is it?
I've never used one, never seen one, never heard of one, and you haven't either. Odd how the summary fails to mention that the problem is only with this obscure model...
Hey recording industry guys, I'm going to give you a chance here. Tell us what's going on. Everything. What's the prominent link here? How are they encouraging piracy? Specifically. What EXACTLY are they doing? Tell us. Show us a legitimate argument, and I'll treat you with the respect that you deserve, however much that may be, and while I can't speak for the rest of Slashdot, I can only ask them that they do the same.
You're all but hated here, but I think you deserve one honest chance to prove your credibility – as long as you have that unproven credibility to begin with – to people who know the internet, and how and where it encourages and discourages piracy, better than damn near anyone else. So take it.
Guess they weren't used to actually being popular...

Or does exist...

All of the business and workstation class machines (OptiPlex, Latitude, Precision) will have downgrade rights for no premium over Vista Business.
There are way more than 6 sources, check the map.
It's private! Don't you guys have any respect?!
That's what makes this so interesting.

You wouldn't know it if you looked though.
Make an even trade with someone?
They just call them "crossovers" now. Seriously, it's all marketing.
Proof

Or for that matter, personal responsibility. The nice thing about the internet is you can filter who can talk to you.
Besides, provided they're not breaking into your stuff, they can't hurt you. The best way to deal with jerks on the internet is to laugh at them.
There's a difference between crashing something and physically melting it.
It only affects the "Billion BiPAC 5200" series.

So if you ported it yourself would that count as masturbation?
FLV is a video format.
It screwed up my A~. (Seriously, that's not a typo. Try it yourself. Firefox 2 on XP)
Ãf often replaces characters when it doesn't work for Slashdot's very outdated character encoding. Give the guy a break; it's probably the server.
Hey, at least that one takes a little figuring out.
Don't kid around like that, you might give him ideas!
