    You didn't read what he said.

    He'd, given the choice, prefer people in his metaphorical country to use linux so that the US couldn't spy on them. He did not say he wanted to spy himself, although admitted that it was a possible route.

    As demonstrated by, for example, Tesco's online shop here, you can still encourage impulse purchasing online. You just need to advertise appropriate products and offers while the customer browses for what they want. Linking it to a loyalty card and tracking what the customer has bought before allows you to suggest offers that would interest them and hence make them buy more.

    Works on me. Too well, sometimes.

    Often times, those disclaimers are required by law. Most people don't add them for fun or to make themselves feel important.

    Really? I've never seen anything firm stating they are required. Like a lot of things, it seems more like legal fashion than legal necessity.

    I need my media player to use standard audio connectors. Two minijacks are not exactly space-consuming, and neither are mini-USB connectors. Power being separate is fairly common and expected in most portable devices, and your device could also charge through USB.

    Run by private companies, yes, but in some cases- no way near the majority, but a significant number to my understanding - in some cases it is on behalf of a local authority. On a smaller scale, certain routes or services a commercial entity runs can be subsidised or requested by the local authorities.

    That sounds so amazingly awesome I might have to try it...
