It's called the post office. This just proves the USPTO is patently broken, start over from the beginning where the system made sense or eliminate it entirely. But first execute the idiots in it slowly and don't forget their bosses, as payment for the stupid shit we have had to suffer through so far.
By their bosses I mean congress for gutting it and the president for ignoring it. The reasons can be interchanged and still be true, scary isn't it. Make retroactive executions as well although most of the ones that started this trend are most likely dead already. Ok, new target, lobbyists and corporate heads who wanted it broken. This is, of course, after their punishment for all the other crap thats been dumped on the rest of us. USPTO abuse is minor in comparison.
Please mark first paragragh serious and second funny, although second should still be serious.
Since when. Artists are being compensated. It's called free advertising and its basically equivalent to word of mouth. You know the kind of advertising most businessmen will tell you you can't buy. Nevermind not being able to buy on the scale "peer to peer" provides. Here's an example: I live in the middle US. The main music sold by music stores is the localized label and big national crap, radio stations weren't any different, and I didn't know anything else existed let alone hear any of it. P2P came along and I found out just by a general search about the revival of Hawaiian language. The attempts to destroy some types of european music(can't remember which ones at the moment). The thing is, I got to hear music that I would have never gotten the chance otherwise and I actually like very much. The bands may never get the chance to come here but I know about them now and sometimes talk to my friends about them as well.
Maybe music should be handled as advertising to get people to go to concerts, novel concept don't you think.
It doesn't have to be very radioactive, just lots of it to be dangerous. Full scale energy production will consume what limited uranium we have and produce a lot of waste, reprocessed or not.
A bee sting may only hurt, but a hundred stings will still kill you.
Has anybody noticed that alot of the MPAA/RIAA are foreign(key word) owned corporations that are trying to manipulate the US government. Many from the same directions as the last world war. Aren't there laws in this country preventing foreign manipulation. If there isn't then maybe those foreign corporations and their host countries should be handled the same way as the last time but with a little less sympathy after they get pounded to near extinction. Wake up america, you have nothing to lose except your future. That's assuming the government hasn't given it away already.
"If I was an artist of some kind today I'd be really worried about all the people making copies of my work and "sharing" them with their friends over the net."
Let's hear it for no limits. You know, freedom. The thing we all celebrate in this country but arbitrarily deny to a certain groups due to age, color, sex preference,(enter issue here). Age being the worst because we're teaching discrimination to the youngest of us and wonder why we see it later on.

Kids are often smarter than given credit and can figure things out for themselves without everyone telling them. It's call learning from experience. They'll survive or they won't and saying they're to young just gets in the way of the freedoms all of us are supposed to have from birth. Nature already has the basics figured out, let nature do its job.
Besides if you want proof of the intelligence of adults, just read the news and ponder not just the news but the way its presented. The adult world has blown it on numerous occasions, obviously they don't evaluate their future much, so how much worse can the under 18 set be?
Let's not forget freedom=Free-Doom or We're free, we're doomed! Wake up!! Enjoy the show!! A word like "freedom" just proves humanity isn't completely stupid and has a sense of humor to boot. -- This would be a sig line but I don't do sigs.
People who own cell phones pay for the phone and the spectrum they use. In doing so, they are also paying for the privilege to use that phone anywhere they choose as that's the point of having a cell phone. If you jam their connection you are ripping them off and since airwaves are public, all of us as well. If you don't like what they are doing, stop being a busy body and "go the fuck outside!"(george carlin) What they are doing is none of your business, deal with it. As for businesses pulling this jamming crap, may you get sued to oblivion for at minimum ripping off the rest of us and maximum getting someone else killed.
I noticed the paying customer viewpoint wasn't in any of the comments.
Stop being so damn oversensitive, any parent with a couple of brats are many times worse than anyone on a cell phone.
Actually, republican "Ike" signed treaties with all those asian countries and that got us into the Vietnam war. As for wasting money, Reagan's star wars and arms programs sent just as much money down a black hole and it wasn't even trying to help anyone. At least when the democrats wasted money it was often on the public, republicans were just feeding their friends.
Amazing, it didn't seem to make that much of a difference from the evidence.
Avs sucks, just bullshit to get credit card numbers. It's a sorry day when websites have to do the parents chosen job and make the rest of us suffer for it. I don't mean just about the internet either(schools, taxes). If you don't want you kids to see real humanity, keep them off the internet.
Most cars don't have 30 year old boxes for instruments, maintained and upgraded to FAA requirements(but still 30 years old, flaws and all), but only when the owners decide to pay for the maintenance and upgrades. The worst is when they blame the dead pilots for a crash who in many situations can only be as good as the information their equipment gives them.
And how many people drive versus how many fly. Besides driving(largely individuals in cars) and flying(mostly large passenger transport) are apples and oranges. If you want a proper comparison use buses and large passenger planes. Now individuals in cars and small single pilot aircraft is more of a correct comparison and if you notice quite a few individuals die in small plane crashes every year as a percentage of individual flyers.(faucett? anyone, recent air show/races) Putting all the numbers together just skews the results in favor of the airlines.
Whether it's safe just depends on point of view and how much spin is attached.

Actually I was thinking of a couple of horses myself.
Just make sure your wife doesn't find out!
As long as she cares and he's not around what difference does it make? Tally ho!! Time to soothe them thoughts.

Another fool who forgot about the first constitution this country had.
Funny, they used to call it free publicity.
There is feedback, it's called a lynching. We need to bring back necktie parties for public officials.
Depends on the point of view doesn't it? Somehow I don't think most cognitive under 18's will see it that way.

It's a nanotube! How could you tell if he's happy or not? Maybe it's just embarrassment.

Actually Ike got us into vietnam with all the treaties he had signed.
Ah, american moral standards in action. Isn't raw greed with no ethics wonderful?
???
Ok, I know you'll be able to understand this one.
It should be illegal to drink whiskey that's less than 18 years old anyway.

I'd rather be fucking than killing any day.
What was it Benjamin Franklin said about security and freedom? DRM isn't freedom and obviously not safe.

You want to remember, right?
My apologies to your wife if you're married.
sig response:
Seven years of G.W. Bush and you're finally observing that, then you're still asking. The answer should've been apparent by now.
