hmm actually to follow on from that.. Seeing as someone thinks they (SCO) may have borrowed code from caldera, maybe we should revoke SCO's licence to Unix.. ?? Its muchly te same tactic they're using against IBM...
Thats what I'm thinking.. You can't just say "I think your doing illegal things.. so we're going to take away your licence and screw your chance to have your say in court"
If you get one of these kiddies keeling over from E-thrombosis or just brain fried because they sat down and played 36 hours straight without taking a piss or stretching their legs once.. YOU will be up excrament creek when the parents sue you.
I think people say that about Oracle because of the very powerfull leadership and hard line business style of their team..
I heard a story from a previous manager who went and visited their Australian office, he walked in to find the manager destroying a FAX machine because Quote "We write software, why are we using paper. From this point on we don't use paper, go write some software that does the job of this FAX but better" UnQuote.
Powerfull leadership.. we could do with some of that here...
So they can automagicly patch my system so that the "world" doesn't hear about it until almost everyone has the patch.. and right about that time (lets say 48 hours later) I find out that all my e-mails have been going to someone else, or my firewall settings are broken because of the patch.. and I spent two days working like a dog trying to find why it suddenly stopped working.
My wish of MS, would be to improve their OS and application design philosophy BEFORE they make it, so these patches aren't so damned regular in requirements or DIRE in consaquences.

All I've got to say about it is..
I love what Linus was quoted as saying.. As for what he thinks of SCO's actions, Torvalds in an e-mail interview compared the fight between SCO, IBM and Novell Inc. to bad TV. "Quite frankly, I found it mostly interesting in a Jerry Springer kind of way. White trash battling it out in public, throwing chairs at each other. SCO crying about IBM's other women.... Fairly entertaining," said Torvalds.
Now there is a man with his eye on the ball:-D
And Believe it or not I'm going for the piece of shit 5600FX..
Two main reasons.
1) I want to (read : NEED to) start running linux on the desktop and ATI still haven't got the hang of decent linux drivers.
2) Its cheap enough that even though I know it will struggle in half the time that a Radion card will, I can easily justify buying another card when this ones useful life is ended.
Nvidia are TRYING to do the right thing.. they're worth supporting for that reason, its important though they know that we don't want to see them trying to screw us over.
If you want to know if waste is really GPL?? Grep through the code and see if there is any GPL'd code from another project in it.. if there is.. then it doesn't matter what AOL says.. the whole thing is free for the using..:-)
ok what I found is that after you generate it the first time, if you click on the "generate key" button in preferences but cancel out without generating a new key, it looses the first key you made.. thus the result you got../.02
heh thanks
:-P
I think it was "flamebaited" for the "its irritating" comment.. which in hind site I could have left out..
holy cow.. I didn't know that..
In Japan they limit the time that a retailer can sell products.
hmmm interesting tactic.. Maybe that explains why their economy is "burnt out"..
You can buy WHAT from a vending machine?!?!?
Thats bloody revolting..
Does anyone know why Japan is always so far ahead of the rest of the world in technology??
Its really irritating.
hmmm unles you like to see pink pixels, I suggest you skip this link...

I can't wait to see IBM's reply to this..
In addition to this..
It might be worth it to FORCE breas on people..

Don't forget.. this is the 80 line that they were willing to show.. aparently there is more..
Is that all??
My IT dept (myself and a helpdesk PFY) support over 90.
You reckon YOUR busy..
I've used and managed an AS400 with JDE for the past 3.5 years.. and although I don't like the product I have respect for it..
And I've had dealings with Oracles management..
these guys do not fsck around.
They are a VERY driven, powerful bunch of people who get what they want, and get it because they ain't afraid of stepping on toes.
JDE needs to watch their step, cause these guys won't give up easily.
If you had the balls to sign in then I'd argue the point with you.. but seeing as you dont.
A clever version of UDP..
Nothing good about that..
All his .plan says is that he feels he must leave. /. for preempting his choices for him.
/. DOES have SOME responsability to acurate journalism...
(actually its "leav" but eh..)
So good on ya
how about the editors read the links before posting??
