Seiko watches have the mechanical winding (by motion) to charge the battery (I'm assuming battery). Citizen watches have the built in solar panel to cherge the battery.
Maye this watch would be a good candidate for solar powered device?

A $100K violin is worth more than the wood it's made out of:-)
(I'm not disagreeing with you, just pointing out other perspectives since the quality of the violin is more than just what it's made of)
I didn't have your option of drilling so I got more expensive fans/sinks/controlers/cases/power supplies to make mine very very quiet (almost silent). To go back to the topic though, I agree with you that looks aren't important since it's under a desk in a corner where it can't be seen.
I had a friend stay with me for a while (month or so) as he needed a place to live while switching jobs. I saw him get addicted to WoW. He soon stopped looking for anything to do and spent all his time on my comptuer. I honestly believe I did him a favor when I stopped giving him access to my network/computers. He got his life together after that and moved on.
I wouldn't hold my breath - manufacturers always prefer that you replace the whole appliance, unless they can reap both higher gross and higher margins from replacements.
You remind me of iPods and betteries for some reason.
If one can't share files with others using MS office, then it makes it difficult to transtion to opemoffice and be left out. When you play super mario and I have an xbox, I don't give a fuck if they are compatible. If we work together and we have to collaborate then they have to be compatible.
Why buy a car that can go 150mph when its illegal and unfeasible to drive it at that speed?
1. Because usually they come with good accelaration and it's a safety issue to reach highway speeds on the ramp so you can merge with traffic.
2. They are made better.
3. If a maniac is after me, I can outrun him/her. (Or insert any emergency).
If you have a retail store near by, you can just take the Mac back there. They will change some board (I think the guy called it the logic board), and that will fix the buzzing noise.
Thank you for your note, and I haven't shipped it yet so it was in time, but I aksed they guy if he could fix it there, he only offered a swap (before he knew about the upgrades) and I don't think he wanted to open anything up. I am in Iowa (not originally) though so distance-to-civilazion might have something to do with it:)
I think if you don't have an upgraded version, the store can help you.
I just got a 15 inch macbook pro (2 days ago). The idle-processor-high-pitch-noise was killing me. But because I had upgraded the HD and ram, I'm going to have to send it in.
I have an older (~2001) HP notebook and the service on that was identical (the hard drive died).
In both cases, I'll get a box, send it and get it back within 5 days of sending it, all at no cost to me.
I dodn't regret buying it (long time pc user as well) and I can't wait to get it back noise-free.
Fantasy and sci-fi are like the same operating system with different graphics (worlds=star system, magic=technology, etc) Just like western and samurai flicks (7 samurai = magnificent seven, etc)
I remember someone showing me how by entering a series of inputs in Microsoft Word, a pinball game would start that was built-in. To me this was an example of software companies' attitude of "I don't care about your hardware resources".
If you search for "camera", you don't know how to use a search engine.

Also with CDs, one is not locked in with iTunes. If one decides to switch to a different player, one can recreate one's library if need be.
Basically I'm fighting format lock.
I'm sure you're right! But I only had to take internet access away for him to get his life going. He was still welcome to food and shelter.

So yeah, not too far from the truth.
I use happy hacking keyboard which has the cntrl key in the caps lock space

But it's not compatible with MS office which was my point.
Equation editor. Idiot.
Umm, if you use a mac where most people use office on windows then you need something that's compatible.
OK, it's just that you made is sound like you had a choice in your pervious post.
But why waste the elctricity at work (environment)?
Yes, but they needed more efficiency in terms of work done (by processor) per watt (helping with cooling issues).

Did I read the description right: It uses 75W in sleep mode?
I may be ignorant, but isn't that high for something in sleep mode?
