I think it's one of the better games because the features are so easily accessible... Granted the PC version isnt nearly as good (in different ways) as the XBox version. With Halo 1, what drew me in was the fact that you could literally have parties using XBoxes.. Grab 4 boxes and link them up and play 16 person halo... Its a great way to get together with friends, and I think that social idea was the selling point... Halo2 just followed in its footsteps, adding online support let these people "practice" online for when they went to these parties... People like that are what made halo so great... it was the social aspect, not the difficulty of the game, or how easy it is to connect to live.... OR marketing... I personally don't even remember ever seeing anything about halo until my friends were playing it in parties... which didnt happen until almost a year after its release. I play on XBox Live all the time now, and the story seems to be the same... So you can rule out Marketing.

Even so, there probably will be some method of DRM incorporated in the future.. but it will not be restricted to the original buyer... thats just stupid economically... completely screwing the resale value... look at gamestop, or any other shops like it, they'll make no money on used systems. "Going forward is easy. The hard part is not dying."
This post was modded funny... which it is funny in a sense, but its also completely true... Just read about Einstien's twin paradox... it shows that time is relative to your velocity...

The twin paradox in a nutshell
    2 Twins exist.
One twin hops in his space ship and travels near the speed of light... (this is currently impossible as you would most certainly die(note the parent))
    One twin stays on earth.
For the one thats travelling fast, time to him looks like normal time, his watch clicks every second, etc...
BUT, when he looks back at earth, everything is going real SLOW.

The second twin, who's sitting on earth minding his busines, sees time go by normal, his watch ALSO clicks with every second...
BUT, when he looks at the other in the space ship, he's moving real fast...

When the other returns to earth, his watch is ahead of the one who stayed on earth, and is officially older than the other, be it by a few seconds or whatever.

I can't remember what the eqaution for this is, I wrote a research paper on the twin paradox a while back where I explained all this in detail and showed proof through several examples and calculations.

The point is... time isn't necesarily the same at each speed, and to assume the eqaution Dx/Dy is irrefutable truth then you are assuming that time is always the same... Read more about it on http://www.howstuffworks.com/ theres a little there on the twin paradox.

    they said 23,000 CD's, which are 700 Mb each... 23,000 * 700 = 16,100,000 Mb

    Divided among all 60 people... 16,100,000 / 60 = 268,333.33

all being converted into Mb/Gb or whatever it ends up being around 262 gigabytes each person.... Personally, I know more than 10 people that have 200 Gb hard drives that arent even in the computer field.

one IT person could grab a couple 200 GB hard drives or a 400GB Hard drive and easily rack up 260+ GB in music/whatever...

One thing i find interesting is... did all 60 people download different music? if so... thats a crap load of music... I'm betting that at least 40% of all the music downloaded were duplicates of the same songs

my point altogether is, its not hard for people to get less than 300 GB each.. now, im sure those people didnt ALL have that much, some probably had alot more, but averaged out, its entirely possible.

The main selling point IMO are games like Halo2 where people games are actually fun with more than 12 people playing... It makes it easier to have an online option than cramming 4 Xbox's into a house and cabling them all together.

As to the other games.. Like you said, the average player only has a few games, but its when they find that one game that is awesome online..

And the main reason XBox live ever had any success, was because a game like that already existed before it was created. Halo. People loved Halo in big groups, and online play only made it better... I dont know any statistics, but i'll bet 100$ that at least 75% of the XBox Live players started out on Live with Halo 2.

    • First of all, google is awesome from my point of view.. We needed some big financial power to speak out about what people have been complaining about for years. The US imposing its power on everyone... doing whatever the hell it wants, whenever the hell it wants to do it.

    • Second, The google vs. china thing... As people have said before, it was either google be completely filtered itself from every single person in china (DRASTICALLY cutting its user base), OR they could comply.. keeping that ENTIRE user base, but only providing them 80% of the info, instead of 100%....

    • Third, google vs US... IF the law was turned down, WHY must they go to extremes to back up their case. And IF they do need to back this up, then why cant they just ask google for statistics, instead of RAW Details. It would be so much more accurate because they could encorporate how many sites with pornographic data are reached via google with SAFE SEARCH enabled... How many kids know enough to turn off safe search on google? And if they're old enough to know how to turn it off, then they should be old enough to be responsible enough to recognize when they have come to a site that they're not looking for. Taking direct data from google doesnt incorporate the fact that there are filters in place already, it completely ignores that, and thats the what they're goal is... get the data, and who cares by what means we got it.

    • Lastly, if the child porn act passed... how on earth would the enforce it? The US has practically no control over illegal activities online (probably bc they try to make everything illegal).

This is pretty much just a rant, some probably doesnt make sense. If it doesnt, just dont comment on that, try to respond to what you understand, or what you think you understand, this way theres alot less misconceptions about what im saying.
