Because that wouldn't propagate their worms. *doh* What they could do is set it to send the worm to everyone on their contacts list and THEN erase their partition tables, or perhaps overclock every piece of hardware in their machine until it bursts into flame.
Yes. Exactly. I want a medal *goes off coding* oh damn i have no idea how to write a virus. Oh yeah plus that would be bad PR for mozilla, having their stuff related to viruses. A better virus would be one that backs up your data to a remote fileserver and turns your computer into an open source ad, by making you not even realize that you aren't using windows.
We used AOL for a few months after we moved, about 3 years ago and windows explorer still has the AOL icon appear in place of the windows flag for a split second before it realizes that AOL isn't there any more. Although it's a good way to get free internet, right now I'd rather pay then use AOL.
Really? I thought he did invent the FPS, but he never says so because he's so modest. Even though I hated Doom because my uncle would always come to our house and play it on our old 486 and I was around 4 and it scared the crap out of me.
well, so did you. First of all, he said 3-5x and in some benchmarks that's how much faster they are. And is that prescott EE the single core or the dual core? Prescott EE isn't a processor, X2 4800+ is. So before you go slamming other people for "fanboyism" be sure to check your facts first and provide solid evidence. If you had said which Prescott EE it wouldnt have been as bad but you didn't.
Isn't this what we've known for a long time? Come on, everyone was talking about Pentium M being the new technology, despite the fact that it's based on the (relatively) ancient Pentium Pro.
Well, I don't actually have an xbox but most people I know that have one use their hard drive to archive games onto it so that they don't need to go look for games to play them. And yeah, where did they find a 20GB hard drive for $99.99? I just saw a 300GB hard drive on sale for $109.99 a couple minutes ago.
Glad I don't play any MMORPGs... yet. Some people take things too seriously. I've heard a story in a reputable PC magazine (maximum pc) about someone who died after play on the computer at a cyber cafe non stop for 21 hours or so. But to say that this is new is clearly wrong. People always get obsessed over something that takes up a good part of their life. A couple weeks ago I read a story in the newspaper about a kid who accidentally killed an older kid after a baseball game because he had lost and thought the older kid was being mean or something.
but I'm not sure why IBM is helping Firefox. Then again, IBM has been going more open source these days. As more and more big players endorse Firefox and open source, people are realizing what open source offers.
well anyway here's a site that does a comparison by putting google and yahoo in frames and doing identical queries.
http://www.googleguy.de/google-yahoo/
But I thought yahoo also uses Google's results in their thing. Althought that might have changed. I remember a couple of years back Yahoo had a little thing on their search results that said powered by google. So of course yahoo will have more than google since they are using Google's results along with their own.
http://www.langreiter.com/exec/yahoo-vs-google.htm
this site also does comparisons, but it shows a nice little graphical thing. I think it shows how google and yahoo results overlap. Oh and on a side note, I'm new here and I was wondering whether the term "slashdotted" means that a site was overwhelmed with traffice from slashdot.

No, it actually means that they aren't full fledged processing cores like a regular CPU. That's what I thought when I saw it too though heh.

umm... hello? where have you been? P4 D 840 EE? Is that not a prescott EE?

Now we know why Intel has such dominance in the processor market, it has a secret alliance with spammers. (Buy AMD!)
