That's absurd. If you're old enough to drive, you're old enough to take responsibility for the way you do it. If a parent can't trust her kid to drive responsibly, she shouldn't be letting him drive in the first place.
But the thing is, I've been there and done that. Going 90+mph through a forest road, the gas tank dropping and dragging on the road at 50 mph with sparks and grinding a hole though the gas tank. (didn't go boom, figure that!) Now days, kids have new distractions like a cell phone, ipod, stereo.. etc. And it's just not kids either, adults are just as guilty. I swear half the population can't drive worth a crap in the USA. The thing is, the younger crowd isn't experienced enough to handle certain situations, simply because they lack the experiences. Simple enough.
Mod this up, seriously. The guy wrote up a 16 page detailed report for god's sake, although his methods did lack, he did actually report it to the staff. Why would he just deserve these types of charges that can just ruin his life forever? As a systems admin I would actually appreciate this information, act on it and fix shit.
They took the standard EULA that they use for everything, and slapped it on - it was the easiest thing for the programmers to do at the time, no thought required, just use the standard legal mumbo-jumbo. An understandable mistake, and they've corrected it.
Been there, done that actually. I took another ISP's EULA, cut and pasted it and ran it though our lawyers a few times before it was approved. (although it wasn't posted prior to approval.. new start up back in the early 90's, reworded and such) I'm sure this isn't that uncommon, even if I hate all the lawyer crap. It's revised at time goes on, so no big deal. (omg, google is evil.. wtf)
I happen to have a Hauppauge WinTV-GO card, and I always have to go to/etc/modprobe.d and create a file called bttv with the following: options bttv card=10 tuner=27. I'm running Kubuntu 8.04 btw, using tvtime. (you need to fix permissions in your/home/username/.tvtime dir) (bug.. reported years ago)
I play Vendetta and it rocks. I've been playing since Nov 2007 and it really is a cool game, and I'm running it under Ubuntu 8.04 with the 64-bit linux client. You get something like 8 hours of free time to play online to see if you like it enough to subscribe. (just a happy gamer, not associated with VO) Oh, one more thing.. take the training missions first before you start asking silly questions.;)
Well, I bought a new laptop recently that has Vista Home Premium. I actually played with it for 3 weeks or so until I hated it. I simply installed 64-bit linux on the thing, and zoom.:) (4GB ram)
A friend of mine is the only person I know that actually bought Vista.. by mistake. He had ordered XP Pro but the guy sent him Vista instead. (eBay)
A buddy of mine has purchased some security cameras from these folks, good quality stuff. http://www.supercircuits.com/ Some good lower cost cameras would be the PC177IR-4, 5 or 6 model that are weatherproof IR color day/night cameras. The most expensive piece of gear you'll want will be a DVR capable of internet / network access. They support X number of cameras, depending on the model also. (normally 4, 8,9, and 16) Hope this helps some. (not affiliated with super circuits btw)
Most of all, i hope they don't put these in 18-wheelers are another way to squeeze yet more driving time out of the guys.
First off, your comment deems that you have never driven a 18-wheeler, Most company's back in the day taught you how to cheat on your log books so you can drive more than 500 miles a day. The first day I was hired, they taught me all of this. They push your ass to drive, and if you don't produce they fire your ass. Some good companies are not this way, granted... but to generalize this isn't a good thing. Ever drive 10 hours, then have to unload a 48' trailer by hand and then pick up a load and get sleep? It's a PITA, and that's why I don't do it anymore. And no, I've never crashed my truck.
Former FBI Agent Patrick J. Dempsey warns that the Internet has become a sanctuary for cyber criminals and the only way to rectify this is to create a second, more secure Internet.
Seriously, at least where I live you have a choice between 1 crap ass broadband company and dsl. The city / town does said contract with cable provider and your locked in. As an example, I'm suppose to get 5mb down and 512K up, but for the past month I've been anywhere from 0.20% (faster than dialup at 56K) to 1.5MB. Beg's to differ the WTF factor. My ISP is, Charter. Their tech support sucks, and is out of India. (script reading dumb ass that has not a clue.. at least to the ones I've spoke to) Seriously, I can pay my bill in town, speak to someone that talks english to order new services, but yet the tech support side goes out to India? WTF? Don't think so.
Post is correct. I used to purchase tons of albums back in the day, and the first thing I did was copy it to either cassette or reel to reel tape. Played once, and that was it. I still find it hard to believe that doing the same thing now constitutes a crime. (burning to mp3, etc) I bought it, so kiss my ass. Otherwise I'll just stop purchasing music altogether and download it. And, the whole point of copying said album / cd is to preserve the original and create copies that might be destroyed,, so you can still have the original to fall back on and recreate new copies.
All you'll be able to say is, "Subject is hatless...REPEAT...HATLESS!" (And that's even if he's in the frame). The PTZ will just pan around aimlessly on a tour program, or be pointed at the wrong thing.
In other words, you have crap ass cameras, or placement. I have NO idea on how this was rated +4 minus dumb ass mods.
"How many times does your computer system go down in a week?" said Jim Currie, a retired Army reserve colonel, military historian and professor at the National Defense University.
Mine, personally not at all. Although this is not really related to Windows vs Linux, since both can have fubar programming on apps. Question is, if they do enough testing to get the bugs out?
I beta tested all of the OS/2 releases and the MS license / patent issue is the only reason I don't think this will ever be released. IBM is a okay company when it comes to Linux, (specs, drivers, etc) but I'd never expect to see OS/2 offered as open source, due to the above mentioned restrictions.
In retrospect I do believe that MS pulled the plug simply because of the "lock-in-factor" on their OS. (they don't share well with others) OS/2 was a very nice OS back in the day. And yes, it ran well.. was better than DOS and made Windows look like crap back in the day. (if ya never ran it, then mod yourself -1)
Minus all the dumb ass comment's, I've ran a cheaper weather station, and placement is key. (reflective sun, etc) But my friend has a nice Davis weather station (wired varmit) that works just great. They also have Wireless versions available. (disclaimer.. no ties to the company, etc..) As far as software goes, Linux versions are available, although running Windows software via a VM works.
As a poor person / family that lives in a HMO based state, getting medical care sucks. I recently had to drive 30 miles just to get a eye exam. THEN, getting the glasses was locally in town. WTF? Prior to the HMO crap everything was in town. My wife might have cancer, and to add insult to that, we had to wait for "permission" from the HMO to have the fucking tests done. ?? (which took 2 months) It's not medical assistance, it's medical resistance!
They can sound better if you have a good turntable with a good cartridge, a good preamp and amp, and good speakers that are capable of resolving the differences between digital and analog audio. The problem is, you're talking about $20,000 worth of high-end audio equipment there.
I've had a good system back in the day, and $20k? I don't think so.
And that's not taking into account wear and tear. Vinyl degrades with each use; there is no getting around it. You're putting two physical parts in contact and moving them against each other; over time, your records will sound worse and there is nothing you can do about it.
Umm, just a slap with a clue stick here, but I always recorded each album to either cassette or reel-to-reel tape on the first play, put the album back and that was it, end of story.
Dear Steve Jobs, I will *never* buy a iphone if you keep pulling this BS. (along with the fact that you are tied into AT&T) Stop behaving like MS, or I'll just build another PC next year vs purchasing a iMac.. and of course, install linux on the PC.
I bet fireman hate this concept, since if you have a fire and kill the power, the car would still feedback juice into the house. Friend of mine had his house burn down a few years ago, and they specifically asked him about a UPS.. Just something else to think about.

Actually, it would be BSODWC. A new blue screen of death with clouds.
It's been that many years already? Wow!

I updated our PS3 last night and it works just fine. The kids like the new features also.

Got married didn't ya.

Is that simple enough for you Steve?
Posting from RC2 now. It's a lot faster on my system, big time. Noscript works fine also. Keep it up devs!
