  1. Always thought statistics was boring.. on Google Snaps Up Stats Tool from Swedish Charity · · Score: 3, Informative

I always thought statistics was boring but the video by the prof http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2670820702 819322251 really intrigued me, statistics makes so much sense when presented properly... the numbers not only make sense but also explains their relation with other statistics giving a much broader view.. I'm sure a tool like this would be a boon to decision makers...

  6. I'm from India and on Verizon Can't Do Math · · Score: 5, Interesting

I was wondering if school kids here understood the difference, I tried this with two 6th grade students and both of them knew the difference.. I am amazed that more than a couple of adults at Verizon could not figure it out.. not exactly a scientific study but I seriously feel that the US needs to work on its education system, particular schools and high schools. The US universities are of excellent quality but I figure only a very small proportion of your population would be eligible to study there given their understanding of basic school education. I see a lot of negative comments here... what ppl fail to understand is that it is not meant to be a practical solution but a project for the sake of doing it... I enjoy working on small projects in my spare time which do not actually solve anything but just keeps me engaged and the stuff this guy done is cool from that perspective..

I am surprised to see that most people here think that this is a very bad idea... since on most occasions you see slashdotters talking about how management does not value their employees. I am sure the employees would server the customer better if they are happy with the job, as the employees are the ones who deal with customer on a day to day basis.. management can say what it wants... just because the management says customer comes first does not mean that the customer is getting good service from the employees... but if the top management treats the employees well it automatically ensures that the customers are served better...
