This is great news. I can now live out my ambition, inspired by The Sims, of building a house with no doors or windows around a person, putting a camera inside and seeing what happens. Simplt replace the building software with The Sims 3-D, and off we go.
Without wishing to start a flame war - it was the fact that the game didn't play like a spreadsheet, or a "roll the dice" game, that made it so fun for me. It was truly immersive, and down-right fun.
Believe you can have less restricted use on their Web n Walk Pro package, but it costs a lot more. I'm on the £7:50 package with my MDA Pro - and it's a God send. Like a web connected laptop that fits in the pocket.
Interesting point. Almost makes you wonder what would've happened if DVD had been "uncopyable". Would we being pushed towards another new technology quite so quickly?
Spot on. Not a console gamer myself, only ever owned a PS1 and my PSP, but the Wii is the console for me, and I look forward to getting one. The PS3 leaves me cold. If the Xbox 360 comes down a fair bit, I might get one for the Media Center functionality.

Self-Recycling Paper

This is why I see the bead-type paper become mainstream one day, and this idea going nowhere. Reusable paper's all well and good, but its the user who needs to be able to dictate when the paper is no longer useful, and ready for recycling.
That, combined with the fact that if paper's to be reusable, it needs far more life than 10 uses. After 10 uses, it's the same as our current situation, and it needs disposing of. Proper electronic paper, I would hope and imagine, would last longer than 10 'prints'
Very well said indeed. As I've said before, I have never had a Nintendo console before, but I'll be getting myself a Wii. True next gen gaming, in that they're attempting something new. And the fact it might get me fit is just a bonus.
I do suspect the grand-parent was indulging it a little trolling, due to the number of times he said "kid".
I believe a variation to the bog-standard "ASCII info per site" has been implemented - http://cardspace.netfx3.com/ . Sure, it's similar to a password manager, but the technology behind it allows for a great deal more.
I've been using FF since the early days too - and FF 2.0 is the most unstable release I've yet come across. Just because someone asks a legit question that goes against the./ mentality, doesn't mean it's a troll. I was hoping this question would be in, and if I had mod points I would've upped you.
I'd argue that the view is much less polarized over here in Britain, than say what I've seen of Americans. Example: Over here, we vote depending on what's put on the table by the parties. If Labour's got a better manifesto, go Labour. Next election, maybe Lib Dem, or whatever. There are die-cast Lab and Tory voters, but the floating voter is in the majority. From what I've seen on the net, Americans seem to live and die by their party. You're either die cast Dem, die cast Rep, and a very small number are what actually decide the election - the floating voter.
I'd vote for whoever put the best policy down in front of me, and actually seemed willing to go through with it. Labour and the "We won't introduce Top-Up fees" manifesto, for example. (We won't introduce Top-Up fees...... in this parliament)
The only problem with Restore Session, is that in many cases when my FireFox freezes, and I kill the process, restoring the state restored the freeze. I'm putting it down to an extension - I'm using my most basic setup I can get by with, all reporting to be compatible, but seeing as it can freeze on the Google homepage, I'm betting extension over a rendering or Javascript issue.
I was equating having an anti-phishing filter that checks against an up-to-date phishing database turned on as default == more secure Joe SixPack. If you feel your privacy is being invaded - turn it off. But if it prevents one Joe Sixpack from typing his credit card number into a phishing site, it's surely proven its worth?
Isn't this against everything we say when it comes to Microsoft? We're meant to be protecting Joe Six-Pack. Various features should ship with the default to 'on', so that those in the know are free to turn it off, but it still protects those who it would most likely benefit?
... finally, I way to get my hands on Duke Nukem Forever!
"Yes Mr Judge, the game will probably make me do bad things - can I just have a sneak preview to be sure?"

You mean the entertainment industry isn't currently in charge? They could be even worse, if the Democrats got in? As a Brit, that's pretty shocking.
Thus the circle is complete :)

Quick, someone port the Aero GUI.

Democracy works. We just need to thin the population down a little. I suggest a set of tests, and then firing squads.
Thank you. It's about time I got more respect.

This is a great question... why things are being added that can easily be optional Extensions - my Google toolbar is still my spell-check of choice.

I'm running Firefox 2 with Google Sync 1.2.20060911.3 just fine.
How about this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23QgunoRYxw
Even a condom won't save you from viral wireless DRM!

Will it be DirextX 10 compatible?
