The question here isn't whether we want to support those features or if we understand that web developers want them (we do), but simply prioritization. We focused on web developers' real world problems.
I love the above quote; it is probably my favorite out of the entire article.
I love how big 'we're fatherly and we know best' MS suggests that pre-vesion-7 IE's abysmal 'support' for web standards isn't a 'real-world' problem. These very clever, mystical 'web developer' characters must have much more technically-incomprehensible problems than their websites actually working as planned.
Perhaps not the best thing to suggest to a slashdot audience.
You do realize that such blasphemy is likely to get you lynched around here?
P.S. I have never had one of these much griped about leaks, and I.E. 7 (at least on my machine) feels clumpy at best compared to any version of Fx
All blogs should be like the Dilbert Blog, aka the personal blog of Scott Adams. It has everything that a blog needs, as outlined by a poster above. But I mostly like it because its damn funny, and offers a somewhat detached and alternative outlook on life.
The USA - commited to bringing down the axis of evil. And stuff. And not world domination! nooooo, leave that to the iraqis and north koreans iranians and other dangerous superpowers:)
I am also no great fan of AOL, as I am (as someone mentioned earlier) not a 12 year old girl or a clueless (but well meaning) family guy who is 'ready to take the virual leap into cyberspace and the information superhighway' or something else suitably moronic.
Although I did pick up a few AOL cds from blockbusters yesterday to use as drinks coasters.
I imagine the WSAD people you decide to curse are the ones who own your ass.
I see no benefit to the arrow keys whatsoever... you lose control of over half the keyboard and have to move you hand to do certain actions.
With WSAD, your little finger (the one with the least stretch) is directly over shift (for running), capslock (for run-lock), and ctrl (for crouch). Your thumb is directly over spacebar for jumping, you've got F for opening, Q and E for leaning, an effortless stretch to R for reload, maybe C for inventory if you like, or tab for a map or whatever, v for voice communication, T and Y for speak and teamspeak, all this with your hands spread out naturally rather than bunched up to the right (unless you're a leftie).
I wouldn't 'fuck the 'WASD' key people' if I were you. They've got the right idea, even if their movement keys haven't got pretty, easy to follow arrows on them.
Sorry, I meant to put 'the total number of people that I know'...
And my bands drummer uses macs, and I honestly think that Safari is one of the best browsers I have tried. I still prefer the fox, you understand, but such a clean and attractive interface, such good RSS support, and such (unrivalled I belive until K browser also adopted full standards) web standards support is something to be respected.
You now bring the total number of people that suggest that IE is better than FF up to two.
And I am one of those millions of people who have never encountered this problem.
Lol yeah, and '15 wrapper DIVs?' This guy plainly hasn't got a clue what CSS is. Take a deep breath... seemmmanntticssssss.

Wow, I sure wouldn't like to be Gartner now. I don't think I've ever seen a company flamed so ferociously for something I don't really understand.
A tactful way of saying 'Microsoft is bent', I'll grant you :-)

Perhaps we could just download them off limewire? [looks innocent]
I couldn't care less about openBSD or openSSH, but this ctrl-k shortcuts pretty neat :D
Obviously the writer isn't quite as 'hardcore' as you.
I think they meant 'be able to check your emails from your desktop legally.
Besides, webmail is pop3, n who the hell wants to use pop3?!
Does it fuck :p
And me. I call it GNU/Media.

Its a bit bloated. And I personally find it quite ugly. Not that I have anything against it...
Actually as of 2000 it was 729,966,641. (http://www.geohive.com/global/geo.php?xml=idb&xsl =idb&par1=eu)
