Our IT department forces engineering to run Cadence ($$$ IC design software) on a Linux VM on Windows sever “in the cloud”. Because you can’t have Linux on the network. Fucking morons. Back in the day we had real Unix workstations. Now it’s windows for the lowest common denominator of morons.
Every time I install Fedora, I have to go through the ritual of removing “rhgb quiet” from the kernel parameters, and putting it in runlevel 3. At least 1080p terminals are supported by default drivers, which is a reason I won’t use Nvidia drivers.
I would not say a Pi is close to the metal. It’s got all the same bloat. It may allow you to control I/O pins with python, but that’s it. The Arduino is using C++, which is also not close to the metal. At one time, only assembly was close to the metal, but I suppose C on an 8-bit processor is an exception, for these times.
RF engineer here. Apple doesn’t seem to be very good at RF engineering, which usually dictates function over form. The antenna gate was a mess, they have lousy antenna placement in their laptops, and now this.
Just make the tests really hard, and make it open book and take home. Hell, that’s the way my electromagnetics final was in grad school. Take it home for three days, and team up with a partner. It was only 4 problems, and they were TOUGH.
Nah, lawn grass is a pain to maintain. My lawn is taken over by that weed that grows even in concrete cracks. Put it in a true weed and it will replicate like crazy.
Computer schools have been around a long time. I remember seeing TV ads from Control Data Institute back the the 70s. Why is it so expensive now that you need loans, or these schemes, to pay it off?
Who the hell would buy a Chrysler minivan to begin with? I know three guys who had those things. They were constantly in the shop. Total pieces of shit. Buy a Honda or Toyota.
I’m sure they’ll be tweaking results this upcoming election.
Damn! Dropped the gun from my hand. What I thought was a woman was nuthin but a man.
Faster or closer?

Just listened to this talk today at the GNU Radio Conference. Lots of presentations on ML for RF, mostly on modulation recognition.

Prostitute vending machine next.
Does it have a robot to clean up after the vagrants shit on the floor?
Roblox is more popular with the kids these days.
You are one of those that believe that government grants rights. Sick.
Nope, he had plenty of ammo left and was going for another spree.
Meh, you probably live in Europe. You’ll soon be living in a caliphate anyway. I’ll keep my guns.
Yet another asshole with guns. A bunch a dozen in the land of the second amendment
Better to be an asshole with guns than a disarmed pussy hole.
There was one a couple of years ago in TX, but a good guy with an “assault rifle” stopped it. The media does not like to remember that one.
We need more mass run-overings, to bring us in line with Europe.
Nothings wrong with me. I just got back from the gun range.
Yep. We should get rid of the 1st and 2nd Amendments, and move straight to socialism.
I experienced the same thing when I was in EE grad school.

Mine does not, and it has 100k employees. Hell, I don’t even have dental insurance.
