I honestly hope they go through every image. Ya know why? So we can see if any of them contain student nudity. Because with that high number, and amount of images taken student's homes? There's going to be some image that's highly illegal. I really hope they get down to the content of the images at some point. I'll have a bowl of popcorn handy if it ever happens because that'll be the best shit-storm ever!!!
Orrrrr maybe they want others to make abstraction layers for other devices. It's their ball, and it's the biggest. Devs can play with the Apple ball first or not really.
It's much simpler than that. Employees just get poached by the competition down the street, or go Shanzai. The average Chinese are psychotically greedy. Somehow moreso than America which makes their actions simpler to anticipate. It all can be expected though given when all that separates you from destitution is your own employees who know more about your business than you do.
Yes, yes the Japanese were trying to surrender, but also wanted to keep a chunk of what they captured. That was really their plan all along. Bomb Pear Harbor, and figure by the time we get forces out to them they'll sue for peace, and have expanded the country a bit. Majorly too bad though they didn't realize America could put it's ass in gear so fast.
And honestly, the Japanese were lucky. America was trying to get things ended as quickly as possible. Which wasn't going to happen if the Japanese would have drug things out in court. Russia was going to invade, and start taking parts of Japan like they did to hunks of Germany. Strategically that would have been a disaster for America, and the Japanese who would then be occupied would have fared about as well as the Germans.
And just a disclaimer. I love Japan. It's an amazing country. Studied Japanese going on 5 or 6 years now, lived in the country, traveled almost everywhere in the country outside of the islands like Okinawa, actually BEEN to the Peace Dome in Hiroshima, and a whole lota other places that'll make ya feel not so proud to be American.
It sucks it happened, but the bomb did allot more than the easily quantified. The fact is that it was going to get dropped eventually. Either in Japan where the fallout would be swept out to sea, or somewhere else where it would have been impossible to clean up. Outside of a few buildings kept for historical reasons, and some dead trees on Miyajima island, you can't tell a bomb was dropped in Hiroshima. It's amazing to think what happened there, and then to see what is there now.
Meh, more of their liking of it vs westerners of not liking it is more due to the addictive substance in the seaweed. It's in miso soup and green tea. It's name is glutamatic acid. Funny to see a Japanese person travel outside of Japan and have none of them above.
It's coming slowly...It's called Netflix instant streaming. So worth it to me to pay the $10 a month just for that. The selection does suck somewhat, but it's getting better. The studios already know they are going to lose if they try to fight Netflix. It's the best thing going right now for them.
Ummmm no thats Ubisoft. Steam can store your playersettings however in games like L4D2 or TF2, but those are optional. Ubi's are not. Burn in hell Ubisoft...
Oh it's a little more complex than that. China is treating Hong Kong well almost purely because they want Taiwan back so badly. A move like putting a choke-hold on Hong Kong would make that whole political mess even more impossible. This whole thing should be interesting, or it will fade away to be forgotten in a few weeks when China decides to block Hong Kong Google & does nothing else.
I think Google's purpose is to roll out fiber to NEW locations that have none. Not dump money into a money losing situation so it can rubber-stamp it's name onto an existing project that should be able to take care of itself if managed correctly. Just my two cents though. Oh, and I'm from Las Vegas so I have a good feeling fiber won't be coming near this city annnnytime soon so no self-serving interest here. Hell I'm just happy Cox can keep my connection up half the time! DSL is a fat no way (100ft too far like everyone else in Vegas I know!)? And Clear's WiMax is a joke (OOooo 100ms minimum ping times because they can't route packets yay!). If THREE different companies in my area can't provide halfway decent service I'm doubting Google could pull off much better. I'm not bitter at all ^^
Actually it kind of does. How many books would an author honestly write? It's not like there are companies all over they need to be concerned about this thing with. Seriously, if they can't be bothered to write a simple letter saying to please take their work down, they either are a hack who no one will care to read anyways, or no one can lay claim to the material anymore. The person likely wrote a 300+ page manuscript, how hard is one more page to write?
Not really...most of those people will have web access via cellphone only so technically 360 million have internet access. Do you consider yourself having net access on a non-smartphone internet access really? Not to mention all you can eat data-plans are about as pricey as here, moreso for someone on less income. Plus, dialup doesn't really exist since a landline costs close to a cellphone anyways. The only real number you can pay attention to is the broadband number. Which is still dubious at best IMO. What they call broadband at most of the hotels I've stayed at are often barely better than an ISDN line. Most of my friends there who you'd probably consider middle & upper class of China don't really have much better.
Oh seriously, you believe there is a market of over a billion in China? Only around 300 million of those people are considered above poverty (for China), and a very small percentage of that have what the average American would call an acceptable income. Yes it's an emerging market, but who cares when the guys down the street will just nockoff your product within a month? Sure it'll be inferior, but it'll be less than half the price of yours.
Hell look at the current debacle with Cadmium. One of the excuses given that it's even used is that jewlery made of it is usually marked for sale only in China. At least people here have the ability to find out in retrospect lil-Jamie's necklace you gave her for X-Mas impairs brain function. In China that junk is sold all over without someone even thinking about it.
I travel to China frequently, and see this kind of thing happening all over. Market of over a billion my ass. More like market of just over a billion waiting to see what they can copy next.
Nintendo isn't losing money. They make money off every console they sell. If people buy a Wii just for Wii Sports that comes with it, they could care less. They just paid $200 for Wii Sports!
Still didn't answer his question since a Netbook is not powerful enough to actually support those apps well. Plus really, who are we kidding here? People who Hackintosh for Final Cut or Logic aren't going to actually pay for the software either.
People who want local access are more concerned about their job normally. Smart people want the data out of their physical location. Google provides a more reliable system for free than I've ever seen offered with such redundancy that the cost didn't seem like a runaway science project. One would bet this system for government will not be suffering what the free users get. Free users get live updates to test, and the segregated systems get the update a month or so later after the massive test has taken place unless it's security related.
And you think people can honestly challenge the average ticket in court now? Outside of the officer not showing up your pretty much humped 99% of the time.
Not really news to me. I had my access cut off two years back. I had an old 2000 machine I'd been meaning to upgrade for ages. Even got a phone call to call my ISP. They knew enough to tell the system was blasting out emails. I just unplugged the machine really and scrapped it. It really didn't do anything useful anyways the other six machine in the house didn't cover already XD
I think the parent was pointing out that Apple products tend to do everything well instead of specializing in one place while utterly dropping the ball in every other category. Have you actually used those ASUS screen integrated desktops? They are pretty, but slow enough to where they just feel clunky. The rest of the list you rattled off have similar shortcomings. And yes, this is being typed from a Macbook...while being surrounded by 4 other desktop systems running different OS's.
So just fortify the DC Jack connection. Laptop Repair 101 has a pretty nice walkthrough on how to do it. Plus really, the only trace you need to fix is the POS trace. Worst case you do the fortification, and solder a wire directly to the resistor, fuse, power filter etc. the trace would be going to anyways. I've fixed far too many of these x_x

Wow...3 months? Please come back in a year when the hinge snaps, mainboard goes dead, or the Wacom sensor goes wonky due to heat the machine is outputting.
I'll agree the TC1100 is garbage, but just like all recent HPs, the way their connector sits always lends itself to having cold solder. Just crack the thing open already, and fix the solder joints. Problem solved in 30-60min.
It's the hard drive connector on the mainboard. They used ZIF cables to connect to the mainboard. The system tends to flex more in tablet mode so it's a lose lose situation. Toshiba tries to market their stuff as higher end than competition (while the hardware is mostly the same) as a way to justify their extra cost. Sadly the system sold outside of Japan don't get very good QAing.
Haha, wait, so the IT dept. or someone who had access, decided to start deleting images when things started coming down? That's awesome...
I honestly hope they go through every image. Ya know why? So we can see if any of them contain student nudity. Because with that high number, and amount of images taken student's homes? Actually they aren't breaking copyright. They signed a deal with the guild that the publishers gather around.
