    LiveCD is what... buzzword for bootable?


    No, it is bootable but the live bit is because you can run a live OS directly from the CD. Not just boot the machine into DOS but have everything from web browsers to office suites.

    Look, I feel for the handicapped....and I'm for helping them when it is practical, but, when it comes to something like changing all our money, something the overwhelming majority of people can deal with....do we have to cater to every minorities needs?


    Yes, you do. Almost everyone can be a minority in some way, at some time, and when you're discriminated against because of it you'll hate it.

    This is not good news because if people think that the problem is not serious enough to warrant attention, society will not change its bad habits. Burning fossil fuels, driving polluting cars, and spewing chemicals into the air and our water supplies must not continue. Gas prices work similarly. A drop in prices is not necessarily good news because it will discourage people from acting to move away from our Middle Eastern energy dependence.


    Why has this been hidden by the mods?

    This is a valid point, there are some who still dispute global warming exists and to them this is complete proof they are right. I can't believe anyone is willing to gamble on this.

    This was in the US? The alternative is they could have shot him, hmm, I'd take the shock.

    Comments on the video clip also suggest this tasering was justified for action occurring before the camera starts up.

    I hate it when people always dismiss things like this as paid for by Microsoft. That guy could very well just be a genuine idiot, and yet you're trying to insult him by saying he's corrupt as well.


    To be fair if it wasn't so plausible people wouldn't be so quick to think it. You can only base your assumptions on history and Microsoft's is chequered to say the least.

    The voice prints are coded to recognize different accents. I'm a native English speaker (Philadelphia, PA). But I had a better time using the UK english pack.

    Granted in a perfect world we wouldn't have to mod things to get them to work...

    It's interesting that because slashdot tends to stay in a single age group, most of today's slashdot readers weren't alive when the first trilogy came out. The lightsaber swinging, cape wearing, watergate babies that grew up watching Starwars are now really old, carrying around babies, wearing suits to the office, and couldn't care less.


    Why hasn't this been modded, troll or flamebait or something? And get off my lawn! ;-)
