it should only look in other directories if i explicitly tell it about them. and hell, i think it should ask me first before even scanning the default directory. i opened picasa the other day after one of its updates and it had convienently forgotten my "do not scan" orders and began scanning the entire hard drive again, adding a bunch of random images into my photo library. pissed me off. and it was entirely too hard to tell it to stop scanning as well.
I use a carry on sized Pelican case locked with a pad lock and cabled to the metal seat frame. Of course it can be defeated, but not in the typical smash and grab time frame.
if your isp is capping your monthly download by a megabyte total, then you could argue that you are already paying a sales tax on those megabytes because you are most likely paying a sales tax on the service. however, it sounds like this is more aimed at the perceived value of a file, and not the size. what if the government decides that a linux iso has the same retail value as windows or os x?
You're not going to get pulled over for not wearing a seat belt
i agree as far as tax evasion for downloads is concerned, but come on down to texas...they most definitely will pull you over just for not wearing a seatbelt
i would be willing to bet that it was designed with that in mind, being that i know of at least one world record that was thrown out after a post race measurement of the pool found it to be 49.97 meters (iirc). (this was due to a divider that splits that pool into 2 25M pools not being pushed exactly into position at the end of the pool for a meet.)
texas is a right to work state...you can leave a company whenever you want, and they can fire you whenever they want. so unless you where stealing stuff from the company, your former VP and/or legal team should have no basis for this.
down here in texas you can get coke made from real sugar that has been imported from mexico...haven't tried it, although i have heard it tastes bettter

The way America works, you're on the board for my company, and I'm on the board for yours.
yep. complete bullshit.

Your ideas intrigue me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
off topic, but i was wondering the same thing...buttons and widgets are all over the place that don't do anything except mess up the look.
that's what i'm wondering

Ark-La-Tex
stage an old oil platform out there and make it like a big "coat check". you could even leave a crew member on board to watch your gear. :)
there was even a commercial about installing a shower in an office bathroom just for this reason a couple of years ago (it was for fedex or something)
