Sounds like a perfect cover, all missiles never work, everything fails. They will never be a threat. Thats a pretty good track record, 0 success, everything blows up after a perfect launch. Build up a working arsenal, while everyone thinks nothing works. Nobody expects the fool.
Downloaded the mate spin, and so far, looks really nice. No virtualbox guest issues, the virtualbox boot resolution error is gone. Installed zfs and partitioned and made some zpools, flawless.
All I had to do apt-get install zfsutils-linux zfs-initramfs and modprobe zfs, and it was good to go.
I tried loading zfs in the live cd, and checked if gpart showed zfs, but it didnt. That would have been the icing on the cake, create a zfs for a boot/root/swap and go.
I didn't have the restricted repo installed, so i just apturl apt://ubuntu-restricted-extras and had all the 3rd party installed.
Mate seems to be locked at 1.12.1 when 14 is out, prob not a big issue.
GTK is 3.18, so no 3.20 issues to worry about. Noticed clearlooks is now named tradtionalok, assume thats to fix the gtk2/gtk3 meta theme, no need for clearlooks-phenix anymore. Firefox Beta/Dev doesnt support GTK 3.20 yet, so nice to see. (And breeze theme is broken in 3.20 if your a KDE user, so wanting themes to match across gtk2/gtk3/qt, nice to see no issues there. Bring on unix themes!
Software Boutique would not work with my proxy. The rest of the system appeared to use the proxy just fine.
Looks like a good Mate spin to me! And LTS, my co-workers will be happy.
Was also going to mention the wasp. The flying pulpit. They have on display at the Boeing museum in Seattle. It amazes me, that the this almost 50 year old machine hasn't been replicated.
In the mood to watch a concert and netflix has little offering. Their music category really should be much bigger, there is no excuse for under so little content. I'm finding myself on youtube red watching concerts due to the lack on netflix. And I get free google music with youtube red. (no commercials)
If it wasnt for daredevil, house of cards and narco, I'd have canceled. Been viewing amazon prime video more lately, since I get it free with prime...
Everyone is listing off apps that do suck cpu cycles. So apple is wrong about this. So is google. We keep getting these explanation from these vendors which doesnt seem to match real world experiences. Thats because vendors use imaginary scenarios, static apps that dont use resources like gps, cpu or network in the background, which is fine for a game, but reporting apps use cycles.
Google goes even farther and says task killers DECREASE battery life, because the task killer will run often. Total bullshit, but as its easy to test and see the results.
I think think the vendors are using unrealistic use cases, apple and google thinks the average use will just call/text and brows the web, so all other apps are a "rare" thing so its excluded.
If the compliance company won't help you pass, they wont be in business long. Compliance companies want customers to pass, so they get hired again and not black listed.
If twitter is going to ban people for free speech, then its not an open platform and shouldn't be endorsed by any government agency. Maybe we should ban all government agencies from using facebook and twitter pages since they are not open platforms. The public should not endorse censorship or promoting companies that censor.
Or you could go the other way, and force them not to censor by law. Since they are beyond a typical company and moved into areas of speech and representation. We do want open access for all protected speech, including sexual, religious and ethnic. Its a corporation, and corporations are not people, so they shouldn't get the free speech protections, just like we dont want them to vote with political money.
Facebook started word based ban lists few weeks back, and old posts are removed if they have such a word. Tranny is on the list, which for many mechanics wonder wtf facebook was going on about their posts being against decency rules. Also Milo's "Dangerous Faggot Tour" posts are removed due to Faggot being banned. I wonder if there are any smokers who got their posts removed too. There there is the whole Twitter going after Milo, so social media censorship is getting out of hand.
I remember back when Microsoft banned usernames with Gay, and a bunch of people couldnt register if they had Gay in their names.
Its like 1990's internet all over again, banned words everywhere.
The government can mandate you buy a product, why not a mandate to open a product. If you believe the government can force you to do an action, why not another? What makes this any different than any other government force?
They already dictate your 4th amendment rights, so restricting your 1st for the "public good" is no stretch.
Just trying to make you think about the scope, that once you start giving up your rights for something you want, the government can limit your other rights.
Don't being a hypocrite when it comes to picking and choosing which rights you want to defend, defend them all.
Not sure how writing an whole new OS or parts of an OS is aid, its not like they asked for keys, they asked for the builder to put in new doors in the house. Seems to go way beyond "aid" definition. But then, if the gov can force the public to buy private products, dont see why the gov cant force companies to build/alter products, law means nothing anymore.
How about we stop spreading lies that is a republican issue when both parties are fucking everyone over for profits. Voting for a democrat or republican isn't going to fix the corporate cronies who own both parties. Lets not excuse corruption and bad behavior for whatever party you belong too, because they are your party.
Until we start holding our own accountable, nothing will ever change.
So it embraces aws growth for multiplayer, does it spawn additional servers if more players join? How many users can you have in a game? Can we have battles with thousands of users playing a fps in real time?
I can see why Amazon is releasing this, you are using aws services (with costs) and twitch, that uses aws servers.
Not sure this would be cheaper than dedicated game rental companies. But if auto spin up of instances for on demand growth is a real feature, that is pretty awesome.
Thats because its an election year, and the republicans are in trouble for passing every budget bill that goes against the rights core agenda. They are being called rino's by their own party, and the in-fighting after the budget is passed, including full funding for planned parenthood, etc. Almost all the social media is negative about their elected officials, and why Trump is taking off. They are tired of "same as usual" do nothing politics.
Republicans will say they will object to an bill from Obama, but they almost always fall in line and pass it. The Syrian ban was bi-partisan. This is why people are calling the republicans rinos, they pass the bills the right wing public doesn't want. So yeah, they say they wont, but they will fall in line and do it anyways.
Been running PF-Kernel for a few years, which has a bunch of patches, including BFQ, ck patch set with BFS, Tux in ice, UKSM, and grayskys gcc kernel patch. I normally just use the PF Github repo
Love it. With BFQ, you no longer get system pauses on your desktop. I can listen to music or play a video, run a few vms, while a compiler runs in the background, and x-windows doesn't pause, typing doesn't pause, its how a system should act. Your system seems more fluid with no pausing.
PF-Kernel seems to be for Arch/Gentoo/Rpm based, but I've used it on Ubuntu systems. Pf-Kernel isn't the only one, there are other kernels out there that include more performance patches, Xanmod and Liquorix
I do this on my voice mail, since robo calls will hang up. Just answer "Hello, Hi" wait 3-4 seconds, repeat, Takes about 5-6 seconds for the robocall to transfer to a human when it thinks its not voicemail. Really pisses them off when they transfer and they hear "Yup, its really not hear, you got the machine"
I suspect they dont get paid for voicemails, so they get really really mad. I've heard some swearing and cussing, love it.
Thing about bans, they still need to be evenly enforced, and twitter seems to selectively enforcing their rules. Facebook is currently in a lawsuit over this for allowing "kill Israelis" pages and only banning "kill Arabs" pages. Companies are not evenly enforcing their policies and actually being very offensive towards some groups.
No matter what distro I use for my desktop, I always use the latest pf-kernel, with bfq scheduler, low latency, cpu optimizations, etc. I can overload the desktop, and music/video is smooth as silk, and compiling is faster. Its a real world performance boost.
I'd love to see how a pf-kernel does vs stock on each distro.
My IT Department has been pushing out IE11 across all the corporate offices for months, and the IT Apps have been working since last year to make sure all custom apps work with it. SAP/Oracle was the only issue, but work around came as it was an industry standard.
We have daily quotas to hit home users who vpn in, to make sure they are upgraded, since they dont run AD login scrips. Its been quite the wack-a-mole to get all users upgraded.
And last year was the EOL of XP too, that was a fun rollout of new upgraded os/hardware rollouts across the entire company. I even ended up helping deploying new workstations on peoples desks. Even with the hired temps, we didnt have enough manpower to do it.

Crazy, many new cars let you send and receive via voice now. Hell, even can listen and send without you picking them up.
Sounds like a good excuse to copy peoples phones, pull someone over for "texting while driving" and scan their phone... No warrant needed.
They knew it was a tor node and knew the warrant was used for harassment only.
Seems like an easy 4th amendment lawsuit. Pre-filled form warrant, Knew it was a tor node, Expert lied to filled out the warrant.
But I guess society lets them do it, over and over and over.

How about the other areas of GDC promoting marxism and white guilt/white oppression....
Seems slashdot likes to post the social justice side and not the hate towards whites and anti-capitalism side of the same convention...

We need a +10 insightful here.

> Republican policies don't bring jobs/money/magic beans to the lower 80%.
And Democrat presidents passed TPP and Nafta.
Both parties will sell you out to cronie capitalism. But you keep blaming 1 party, shows how little you know, and why nothing ever changes.

And Democrat presidents passed TPP and NAFTA ... Google outsources and uses contractors that outsource, and Google isn't right wing, not even close.
