Problem is, those little boxes start to pop up almost immediately. One of the first is "Microsoft Subsystem Spooler is trying to access the Internet. OK?".

What the hell if the Subsystem spooler? Can it be used by other programs to avoid detection? I have no idea. It would be nice if Zone Alarm spend an once of effort explaining what all these things were.

Why are we even having this conversation?

With Sony rootkiting our computers, we should be actively boycotting them. The slashcrowd loves to bitch and complain about a company, but the second they make something they want they roll over.

Boycott Sony! Stop buying their music and games. Send a message.

If we rise up against these oppressive companies in an organized way, rather then continuing to give them our money, things will change.

I implore slashdot to stop posting articles that amount to nothing by free PR for Sony until they address the rootkit issue.

I think it's unfair to say the only person you're hurting is yourself. If we continue to support people with bigoted views, putting money in their pockets, looking the other way because we like something they do, they will not only continue, but gain influence.

But I suppose you're one of those people that hates MS, but bought a XBox and every game that comes out. We have a word for that, it's hypocrisy.
