The problems with hydrogen is getting it and storing it. I think it was myth busters where I saw them pump hydrogen gas into a car engine and it ran. Well, it ran until the gas leaked out of the engine since said engine was not made for hydrogen gas.

Isn't Iceland going all hydrogen? Cars, boats, just about everything? Granted Iceland has a lot of geothermal based electricity on hand to make the hydrogen. Other places in the world also have geothermal energy available (the west cost of the US for one). The geothermal electric power plants can be built then use that power to create hydrogen gas. We still need the storage and transmission systems for hydrogen gas to be built.

If the braking can charge the batteries as you go that would be good.

For the long trips take the other car. This appears to work well also. The thing is, a two seater may not be good for the long trips.

I usually keep my cars 10+ years anyway. I like not having a car payment. I would still like to see the long term repairs on this car.

Which may have a lot to do with why XP pro on this netbook. XP loaded slower and ran sluggish on this netbook. It worked but for me it was not running correctly. I do not have and did not try XP home.

Battery life for me was OSX: 3 hours 20 minutes. XP: 3 hours 30 minutes. win 7: 5 hours. Ubuntu linux: 6 hours.

I charged the netbook to a full charge then used it (readign email, writing some docs, nothing really crazy) on the power saver settings for each OS. Linux got the best average time after 5 chrages. Win 7 did beat XP pro and OSX for my not official test.

Setting up a bunch of energy 'stations' where there is brackish water sounds like a win. The article didn't say anything about damming up the river, or needing to be in deep water. So set these up along the shore where water river cannot go anyway, less blocking of the river, less or no blocking of river traffic, power sent to the people. Really sounds like a win. The stock traders wanted it. We never gamed on them though. Flat screens back then (1999-2000) sucked. They broke often and needed to be replaced.

As for Win 7, I have been using the 64 bit version as a test game platform for a few months now. It is not the fastest just a Q6600 with 8GB of ram. No overclocking. So far it works well. The biggest issue I have had was a few old games do not like the wide screen resolution. That is more of a game issue since wide screen resolutions were not common back 9-10 years ago. A few older (from 1997,1998) games made the OS complain during the install but the game installed and runs fine. The old games expect to run like win 98. Needed to change how the game runs. I may try XP mode, but so far have not needed to. Personally I think this is what vista should (ok is) have been in the first place.
