How about wine or that cross over thing? Once configured they let you install office 2003 (and office 2000 I haven't tried office 2007). Then word, excel runs as word and excel. The biggest issues I have seen are access and publisher. Publisher works when creating a new project. Opening old publisher files can be a problem. No idea why, unless publisher 98 is so old that it doesn't work. And access, I just wish it would die. Sorry access drive me crazy. For word, excel, the slide show thing, and outlook. Yes outlook 2003 works for me (even hooked to an exchange server). The biggest problem was fonts. I needed to install a bunch of fonts. Which really wasn't the end of the world.

And also, who tipped off that there were 12 models?

    But...
Remember how the cylons keep saying that all this has happened before? Maybe the cylons are trying to figure out what happened/ where they could have done better and this is all a cylon simulation. Everything. The cylons recreated people from the past (all cylon) programed to be those real people. So the entire series is a simulation of past events.

I gonna get so flamed for this...

The Fire line of video cards are not gaming cards. Not many laptops have a video card that can be changed. Some do (mini PCI, PCIe card) but most do not. Most desktops can have the video card upgraded or added. Very few desktops are PCI slot only nowadays. Most have a PCIe (maybe AGP if older) slot along with the integrated graphics.

Don't get a workstation/rendering card (fire/quatro) card for playing games. For creating the graphics yes, but not for playing games. A lot of those workstation cards cost $1500 just for the video card.

And Crysis is not a run of the mill game. Maybe in a year or two but not now. Every once in a while a new game comes out that pushes the graphics which make ATi and Nvidia make better cards. Doom 3 did this a few years ago and now Crysis is doing it today. Remember all those benchmarks that used Doom 3? Today's cards can run Doom 3 without an issue.

If it cost more to make a device that uses less power than the older high power device so what? Look at it this way: Take a million low power Abc CPUs vs a million high power DEF CPUs. The Abc unints cost about $1 more in power to create and $5 more in material to made then the DEF CPUs. So for the Abc CPU it cost $5 million more (for the million created) then DEF CPUs. If Abc CPUs use half the power when compared to DEF CPUs then the longer Abc CPUs are running they are saving energy and $$$ when compared to their DEF counterparts. So if the CPU were to run for 5-10 years it is a savings for the consumer and everyone in less powered being needed vs running the DEF CPUs. Not everyone will run their CPU for 10 years but 5 years should be a reasonable amount o time for a long term use for a CPU.

There are other examples. Now for things that one uses once and tosses, yes the less power hungry one should also cost less in power/materials to make.
