And if the existing DRM in iTunes-store-bought music bothers you, you can always burn a CD, then rip it to mp3 format. So, yes, the "DRM ridden" phrase is quite silly.
Also, anyone see a Linux version of this Songbird available for download?
Off topic and even if you took credit, you're the 2nd post. [chuckle sound] But to put this thread on topic, this PVR sounds like if it is left unattended, it could become the Godzilla of melted balls of plastic and metal! Ahh... I love the smell of burning PCBs in the morning.
I'm wondering if anyone else has had this experience. You're power or phone service is out when you get home. Suddenly you remember the group of city workers mulling about a section of excavated road not too far away...
"That free [...] SNL skit was just icing on the cake"
A comment on the SNL skit: Last week, in an appearance on Conan O'Brien's show, SNL actor Chris Parnell mentioned that he was surprised how popular the skit had become. There was, however, no mention that it was font and center on the iTunes Store homepage for several weeks. Of course it was successful. Many people, such as myself, have iTunes accounts and only download free stuff using those Pepsi downloads or look for the free download of the week.
Out of hand? Maybe. Bad? No. People in the IT industry don't have to worry about losing their jobs as long as viruses, worms, etc. exist. Therefore, malicious computer stuff is good for the economy. There's you're glass half-full perspective.:)
Knoppix is the best tool with which to showcase Debian-based systems. No installation/configuration required. Along with Ubuntu, it is quite possibly the easiest-to-use linux out there.
MacBook Pro: $2000
Windows XP Pro: $300
Sick days taken: 3
Money you could have saved by just running on a cheap PC box: $1200+
Getting it to work and sticking it to Steve Jobs: priceless
AMD thinks they're hot stuff because they took apart an Intel chip and duplicated it (literally). So, AMD design is Intel design. Therefore, I'm not really sure how AMD can be better. It is, after all, the stereotypical cheap knock-off. And (personal rant aside) Intel has a more reputable name and more experience in the industry. That's how they manage to make a bigger deal over the same "shit."
What's this about Solaris?

Could it be... reasonably priced high-demand items from Apple? I though I would never see the day. Nonetheless... I want one :)
That, and there's less potential for confusion:
(i.e.:ONE mouse button!)
It should also be noted that most teachers require the same level of simplicity (as one double-clicks a hyperlink as we speak)
The real question is which will come out first Vista Service Pack 1 or XP SP3?
Seriously... No one here thinks Vista will be operating properly, or securely, straight out of the box. Right?

This looks like another (needed) step towards making Linux ready for the average computer user.
