What the hell people. "Exercise" can be just as fun as computer games. You just need to find an activity that you enjoy.
I love playing the Assassin's Creed games, but doing Parkour for real is more fun, not to mention free, with a much larger potential play area. As a side bonus, you get very functionally fit (and much more confident in your body's capabilities), unlike those guys pumping weights just for the aesthetic results.
Besides, I don't want to be one of those old people that can barely walk because they have no muscle - and being fit makes life much more enjoyable than when I was carrying 20lbs of dead weight.
Yes, but the way she just suddenly "realised" the gun was there was weird. It would have been more sensible if she'd just found the panel after seeing a slight crack in the wall while randomly analysing the room (what else can you do if you're trapped?), but she seemed to suddenly know exactly where it was, it just seemed like a cop-out in terms of scripting. Why have her spend all that time sitting around only to then have some time delayed memory go off of the gun being there? It seems like completing part of the test for her, which isn't very scientific..
The bit where she "finds" the portal gun made no sense, if she really had no idea what was happening to her. Like I said, I can think of explanations (it was just a test, maybe they'd inserted the memories into her, or the explanation was in the numbers (very unlikely), blah blah), but that part just seemed so lazy from a plot writing perspective.
and yet the plot made little sense. I can think of explanations, but unfortunately one of them is that the writer was an idiot. It would be nice to have more plot and action (though the last scene was pretty breathtaking - I would have chosen a far safer way off of the building).
That reminds me of when I played through Operation Flashpoint. I was stressed out of my wits most of the time, until in one of the last missions I actually crawled right in front of some enemies in a poorly lit area, and they didn't even notice me..
What don't you like about "cover combat" though? Personally, I hate games where you have to shoot the enemies several times in the head before they even die. I played the original Deus Ex on "realistic", where one or two shots would kill your own character too, so being out in the open is just suicide. It was very frustrating and nerve-wracking at times, but also very satisfying when you actually made it through.
I haven't felt like buying any new games for a while, and I didn't even touch the sequel to Deus Ex after playing the demo and seeing how kiddified they'd made the whole thing, but this new version sounds like something I might enjoy..
More like because they've already learned the Photoshop interface, and can't be bothered learning another.. especially if they already suck with computers.
I think it was when the guy for some reason took apart a monitor to hook up his computer to the radio transmitter, rather than just connecting to a pin on the serial port for example.
Google seems to agree that you're a murderer. There's nothing specifically about you in the first page of results for "murder non sequitur", but it's not impossible we'll find something if we dig in!
Compared to the TV series, the movies are like Shakespeare vs limericks scrawled in a bathroom stall.
Anyway, wanting them "intelligent" is like wanting to make Film Noir about My Little Pony. Sure, it might work, but it's not in the original spirit of the thing..
He provides a comedy element I suppose. I thought some of the stuff between him and his parents was pretty funny. It was the "hackers" in the first movie that really made me hate it the first time I saw it. In my subsequent viewings of Transformers 1 I've just tried to ignore those parts, since 2 and 3 actually made Bay's interpretation enjoyable for me.
I didn't think Shia LeBeouf (or however you spell it) was primarily what spoiled Indiana Jones either, though he wasn't as good as Young Indiana Jones.
I'll say again - have you watched the Transformers original series recently? Very few of the plots made any sense. The movies were far more coherent.
Transformers 3 especially was pretty much perfect in my book as an action movie, and even the 3D was done very well, without all the cheap "OMG it's flying out of the screen at my face!" tricks that most other 3D films apparently can't resist..
There are a whooooole lot of crap films out there. I was disappointed with the action scenes in Transformers 1, I thought they were filmed far too close, but 2 and 3 are great. As films go, they're at least average. I can't think of any scale in which they're meant to be judged that they actually make bad movies? They're not about plot, they're about action, giant robots, fast cars, etc.
What was wrong with Transformers 2? I thought it was better than the first. 3 is even better.
Don't try to criticise the plot or anything like that - have you watched the original series recently?:p I think it's amazing how serious the Transformers movies can be taken, considering they're based upon toy alien robots that can transform into cars..
Yes, presumably partially saved up personal funds, maybe also with a bank loan. He's actually my uncle, and he was an accountant before starting this business. My grandfather was a minister, not wealthy at all, didn't even own his own house. He said he started up the business with £50,000, and now 15 years later it's worth milliions. Not bad at all.
I played Red Dead Redemption for weeks. I was planning on completing it, but my PS3 died and I haven't restarted. I'd only done about half of the plot and had spent a lot of time doing all the outposts, catching bandits, playing poker, doing the treasure hunts, finding ingredients, etc.. my brother on the other hand just blasted through the plot in 2 days or something.
I'm still planning on going back and playing the game again, but just because I didn't finish it yet doesn't mean I don't want the full plot there to keep the game interesting when I feel I've had enough of exploring..
Haha. Well, I've spoken to a few people that believe exactly what you said.. they find it easier to swallow the idea that someone else is successful because they cheat, and not simply because they worked harder or had a lucky break.
No, there are other choices available for all of our products, but in certain cases, we can do things faster, and therefore cheaper. Offshore work makes good money.
Nobody gets rich off of hard work and diligence like they preach to you. you either inherit money or steal it.
Uh.. okay. And all gross generalisations are true, clearly.
The business I work for has worked its way up from the ground, with products we designed, built and hire out with operating crew. All through hard work and diligence. We're not exactly a "big corporation" yet, but we're currently looking at selling off our sales division for several million, and ploughing that money back into more R&D.
There are a lot of rich, scummy people out there sure, but you don't need to be scum to get rich..

Apple used to be a has-been hardware vendor!
Isn't reading still the most popular bedtime activity?
I though it was sleeping. I'm way out of touch these days..

For the AI course, the textbook sounded pretty essential. I think I might already have had the book from my own time at Uni, but I didn't check.

You seem to be the only person in this thread that's not crazy.

It brings in money for one part of our business, but we have a reputation for our other tools and don't need a sales team for them.

I didn't know jail was known as "middle-class life" these days..
